SPEEDruns not SAFEruns
So, I submitted Contra to AGDQ and I'm aslo running it at DeuceCon in October - which means only one thing: Runs begin again when I'm at home! I get home on Septebmer 11th and will be de-rusting and going for PB, goal by the end of the year is sub 10:30 which IMO shouldn't be that difficult for me. I'm going to watch some newer runs since I've been gone for awhile, and see how spread rhythm has got optimized and than get after it.

So I did a run at DeuceCon and ended up getting an 11:47 - not too bad considering no reset, last run of meet up etc. If you want to check it out you can here. At the beginning I explain why I started running Contra and talk about the community a bit - hopefully it's not too sappy

Very nice Deuceler! Great story and the speech about the community was awesome. I agree that Contra is an amazing game/series and doesn't quite get the love it deserves from gamers overall. But the Contra community and especially people here at SDA do love some Contra! <3

Also, I will be playing Contra at the Extra Life Charity Event. It runs Saturday to Sunday, 9am-9am Eastern time (24 hours). I will be on at 6pm Pacific. It's not so much a speed run setting as much as a gaming event to benefit the kids. But I will also be doing some Q and A regardign SDA and GDQ. Catch it if you can!
