I still can't believe it happened. That sub 10 is scary close, just don't know if I want to chase it. I would need that exact same run to happen again, but without the lag frames at the start of Energy Zone to catch the good global timer, but even that was 1 second lost, so I'd need to find 1 more. Snow Field bomb jump...
Low % has been obtained on the J Version. I may drive that down a little more. It had a fluke death in Waterfall, but I got the Base2 Boss Glitch on both heads. That would be hard to overcome.

Congrats DK! I am glad i did the raid to you so more people watched that awesome run. I will keep going trying to match your time 10:02, but to be honest I have no mashing to beat that time ever I think my top is 10:02 but in the other hand I know you are capable of doing 9:58.
In your run you are loosing:
- ~ 1 second in Lv 2 (1/2 in stage and 1/2 in boss fight)
- 1/2 second in Lv. 3 (faster jumping needed)
- ~2 seconds in Lv. 4 (one in "three jumps" and another overall)
- .8 second in Lv. 5 (bomb jump {crapy RNG in TeH UrN} and .3 on the last set of jump at the end)
- ~2 seconds in Lv. 6 (1.5 due to bad global timer flames and half second on Boss fight)
- .5 second in Lv. 7 (due to bad global timer having to wait for the first claw to go down)
- 0 Level 8 P E R F E C T
So total to be saved should be 6.8 seconds, which equals 9:55 "crazyness"
So I think sub 10 should be really possible for you.

Wow DK28 that really cool to see 10:02.
Thats crazy because TMR 10:05 was nearly unbeatable. Now we know sub 10 will be happen sooner or later if peoples will keep trying like this. Its might requires nearly SMB stanard run and its might take month, years but at least its theory possible with human hands.
I see someone submit Contra run but somereason withdraw it. Are you going submit your 10:02 DK28 or keep you trying improve it? I think 10:02 is definitely worth submit even then if you keep redo it.

Im workimng this game whole my week trying make whole 2 hours my runs without completion. PB is 11:24. Most run killer is level 4 boss. No idea how this damage chart working:

Damn finally nice time and new record. Im not count attempts but i trash something like 7-8 hours recorded videos (failed runs) and spend 4 days. That was only run i got finnish and only run i got pass level 7. I estimate 11:09:89 but i think its will turn 11:10. 14 seconds improvement over my previous record.
I was really pleased this run. Sub 11 minutes might be definitely my final goal speedrun this game. At this point its will be work seconds by seconds. Also this game hurt much my arm. I break my rightside arm from (sport inury) january 2014. I have to use elbow pad to play that game.

I just rough estimate i lost 28 seconds for you base 2 only and 9 seconds base 1 only. Damn if i could firing somewhat faster sub 11 is pretty easy task for me even slower quality run. Whole 37 seconds i lost base levels only your 10:02 time.
I "roughly" timed what time i lost your WR run per level. This timing is just not perfect. I didn´t cound hundreds just seconds.
Jungle +1 seconds
Base + 9 seconds
Waterfall +5 seconds (i never are managed that one round fight and i got this barrier early method but its not cost much time flame jump is hell)
Base 2 +28 seconds (10 seconds with boss fight only i miss this glitch like always. Other 18 seconds i lost level only without sense reason) My firing seems suck even it was pretty good most of the time IMO
Snow +6 seconds (just my cautions) I never pass this level without stopping
Energy +6 seconds (i got this barrier and probably decent boss fight. Your fight was awesome
Hangar +7 seconds (I got my personal best level 7 ever but you did it extremely well. Awesome pause trick at end. Not idea how it working.
Alien +4 seconds (i got slower fight and some stupid mistakes) Thanks my slow arm i cannot make WR method here but thats not seems really important.

LOL. 2nd completed no power up run. Massive 3 minutes improvement over my old one (4 years old run). And this took me only 3 attempts to redo it.
New low-% run (without power ups and without continue lost) 4 deaths all not cost much time though.

I usually dislike this category. But i think, at this point its just easier to improve than my any-% run. This is also good practice with this game.
