Speedrun Contest Announcement
Game: Resident Evil Code Veronica X (RECV or just CV)
System: Playstation2 or Dreamcast is preferred but Gamecube also accepted
NTSC or PAL: NTSC
Deadline for submissions: July 30, 2006 (3 months from today)
Single or Multisegment: I would prefer to see Single Segment but Multisegment runs will be accepted also. Fastest runner will receive the prize.
Prize: $100 via Paypal or Think Geek gift certificate
Judge: Radix

Quick question (yes I read that link but I'm asking here anyway)? Does it HAVE to be the PS2 ? Would the GC one work...same game.

You're accepting runs on this games for 3 different systems? You do realize that loading times differ between systems and a player playing on a certain system will yield slower times. The GC should be the fastest of the 3 and the DC the slowest. Also allowing multisegment runs and giving the prize to the fastest time will likely mean the winner will me a MS run on the GC version.

I'm addicted to games

The contest should just be SS I think. That's what the person paying wants.

As for the different platforms... we all know that the programmers suck and can't exclude the loading time from the timer, therefore the times will be different. In the case of runs submitted on more than one version, there maybe no 'clear winner' in terms of "best". Might come down to judging playstyle only.

That'll make more sense...however multiple judges would be better if that's the case.
