*please remove this thread, I'm making a new one*
Thread title:
Why would someone who has been shunned from the entire speedrunning community for cheating try to host a speedrunning marathon? This honestly just seems like you are inviting abuse. Between your behavior at past marathons and your complete inability to even stream on your own channel on a regular basis, what made you think that you'd be a good choice to shoulder the load of organizing an entire marathon? This is all based on a whim, you know it, and nothing will ever come of it.

Why Hello it is Me
So here are some problems I'm finding.

-The form asks "what weeks are you available", which tells me that this marathon is in the very early stages of pre-planning, with no set dates in mind. This is potential for several issues with scheduling, and having a set schedule set well in advance (especially since you've set it 3 months from now but with no start time) is kinda important, especially since this is a charity marathon.

-One of the questions asked in the chat was "Does it have to be a speedrun? Or can it be a fast casual playthrough?", and your response was "We recommend it is a speedrun, yes"...Shouldn't it just be a resounding "Yes, it must be a speedrun"? Might just be wording, but, ya know.

-There is a lack of options for submitting multiple games, which many runners run several and this is rather important.

-This thread shows next to nothing of what is actually planned, which as Lyle says, suggests possible issues with the organization of the marathon considering it's only, what, a couple months off. Most of what is in the Discord so far is the same content of a typical skype chat, complete with a "#memes" chat. You can organize a smaller marathon fairly quickly, but the more time (and prior experience) available the better.

-You should know as well as any of us do what your status in this community is. Behavior aside, you have a past history of cheating, an inconsistent stream schedule and very few channel views in the last several months. Judging by the conversations here it looks like you are looking to participate in this marathon as well. You are hosting it on another channel which is a plus, but you are still, by all appearances, the lead one organizing this. This simply looks sketchy to anyone who might want to donate.

I don't want to be mean here, I just want to be honest. The marathon isn't a bad idea, but I feel there is a lack of trust which is necessary for a successful marathon, even a relatively small one. I can believe that you mean well in all of this, but you have a lot to prove at this point and not enough yet to show for it.

@GhostkingG1 - that's why we need more than one person helping to organize it. I won't be doing it all myself. I'm trying to find people that have some experience with this kind of stuff to help out. The more we get to help out, the better.

You also make a good point regarding multiple games. We are allowing up to 5 submissions per runner. I'll be adding that to the original post. I'll also be more concise with the overall length, since most people have been asking if it's for a whole month. (it will more than likely not be more than 3-5 days)

Also keep in mind, it is still very much in the early stages, we are first getting a feel for interest and people's availability. Based on that, we will or will not move forward. I will more than likely add a FAQ section addressing most of these (and any additional) questions people may have.
And yes, I know I have a lot to prove, which is why I am determined to prove it through this marathon. I do really appreciate your honesty though.
HELLO!
You don't prove yourself by jumping back in and trying to be the leader.  Take a back seat, prove you can follow the rules.
FAQ section added.

Your reason for telling people to believe you is to "believe you" after acknowledging that your reputation is damaged for completely legitimate reasons. Unfortunately, your word isn't really worth anything. You followed that up by basically admitting that you're doing this whole thing to improve your reputation, like in order to make up for the fact that you're a known cheater, you have to organize a whole marathon to make up for it. Have you ever heard of the saying "learn to walk before you run"? Maybe start establishing some goodwill with people before you try to get them to trust you with their time and money.
Why Hello it is Me
I still think one inherent problem here is the fact that you have expressed that you are looking to do your own runs in this event. While there is nothing inherently wrong with doing speedruns on your own channel (even after having been caught cheating and had all your times removed from the leaderboard), I honestly think that if you are committed to going through with this, for the sake of the community and the marathon, that you shouldn't be running. It casts a blight on the entire marathon.

As Presjpolk said, take a backseat.

I will talk it over with my staff and see what they think. Thanks for the constructive criticism though.
I have a strawpoll narrowing the event down to two different weeks. If you guys could, vote for which one works better for you.

I can't run ads on a non-partnered channel. This marathon will have its OWN channel.
HELLO!
So let's say the marathon happens and gets a ton of views. You won't apply for partner on it?

Why would I? That's counter-intuitive to the marathon's purpose.
HELLO!
Why would you do any of the things you've done?

Look, my purpose here is to warn new people, coming here having just watched AGDQ, that you have a poor track record of dishonest and unstable behavior, and there are going to be better events to participate in than this probable sham.
As part of the staff with a focus on community management, I can guarantee that this is not just a scam or calling for attention, subs or views as many people claim it going to be based on Chibi's reputation/"unstable behaviour". This marathon has no affiliation to Chibi's stream at all, they are two separate channels, the donations go directly to the charity via a donation tracker (the one from GDQ staff: https://github.com/GamesDoneQuick/donation-tracker) and nobody is earning a single cent out of this except the charity - Chibi is, like the rest of the staff, part of the planning staff. It's just Chibi bringing up the idea with the marathon who is asking for people who are voluntarily able to help making this small snowball rolling to make it a big one.

It's not Chibi's marathon, either. Nor is this anything to improve Chibi's reputation or his trust. It's a community driven marathon lead by Chibi, A_Cute_Lynx, SkiCrazedTeddy and my humble self - The only difference is that Chibi came up with the idea first instead of A_Cute_Lynx, SkiCrazedTeddy or my humble self. Moreover, we are working as hard as possible and gladly appreciate everyone's opinion/ideas to make it the best experience possible. We might not be as experienced as "professional marathons" like GDQ, ESA etc, but everyone started from zero and learn from their and our mistakes. We also will post any information that is relevant to the community and the runners to give you as much details as everyone needs. You can ask us any questions on the SDA Forums, on Reddit and of course on Discord and Twitter. We're mostly active on Discord (Link: https://discord.gg/0l2gIp2SwGJ3hRcQ) and soon on the Twitter Account (Link: https://twitter.com/e_speedsters) s well since it's the fastest and best way to communicate with our runners and people who are genuinely interested to support our intentions.

I hope this gives you a bit better view of this whole plan instead of this negative afflicted judgements.

HELLO!
If you want it to succeed then remove chibi from the effort.  His dishonesty taints your marathon, and you *have* to cut the dead weight if you want your marathon to have credibility.

He's a known liar and cheat.

Again, it's not MY marathon, it's a marathon of 4 guys with the same right to a say. We as staff have Chibi (and of course of each other as well) under control once something happens that doesn't look like it's ok and take immediate action.
Leave it to us and once something happens, we take action. We can at least try it. Better once than never. You'll never know. People make individual stupid mistakes and learn from it sooner or later. Or I can say it in your way: Three trustworthy staff 'overweigh' the one dead weight.

Succession works in multiple ways.
That's the last that I'm gonna say about this topic.
I haven't given my input on this yet, and do not intend to participate after this post. But I can say from experience(as well as from knowing Lynx and STDs, 2 people who both have a bit of a negative reputation due to past actions) that almost everyone is capable of change. We all deserve forgiveness, unless we do something completely unforgiveable, which I don't think Chibi has done. When we lose our ability to forgive others, we become the one who needs to be forgiven. Lynx, for example, has gone from someone who many would call one of the bigger trolls in the community to a mature, respectable adult and a great person. I cannot speak for Chibi, as I do not know him as well, but EVERYONE deserves a chance to be a better person.
HELLO!
Giving people a chance is great. But you don't let Benedict Arnold make amends by running for President.

Gotta show some humility.
just( •_•)>⌐■-■ ..... (⌐■_■)wing it
Yeah i'm gonna partake in this, ShiruOkami's avatar literally triggered me into partaking real talk

not just one, but three people with bad reputation? what a team

Marathon now has a confirmed date. Time to come later
Let's get frisky.
I'm looking into this.

And for the people who are on edge - I've known Shiru through Twitter for a good while and he's a really solid guy, can't say much about the others. As for Chibi, people can make mistakes but they shouldn't be defined by them. To err is to human to forgive is to be divine.

This marathon is obviously a topic very close to his heart and I think he should be given a chance.

Well, after promising that he's changed, and claiming to have grown up or whatever, Chibi apparently thinks this is the right way to conduct yourself in public view. I'm sure the charity for autistic people would love their supporters to use the words "retarded" and "faggots" where thousands of people can see.

Also, according to your twitter, you're done streaming until further notice. Any comment on that? That seems to run counter to your stated intent of streaming regularly. Not really helping to promote your vaporware marathon, are you?

Edit: Since "ShiruOkami" is also one of the people running this marathon, do you have any comment as to why you enable this sort of behavior and actually tell someone that an apology isn't necessary for calling a group of people "faggots"?
