Vae Victus!
Congrats on your Blood improvement!

Why should we bother with starting weapon modes? I use Rawlings explosive shells from start in two levels at least and I see no point in swapping it during the gameplay. If we can change mode then restart, then anyone can and that's no advantage to noone.
Selected mode sometimes stays through the levels and sometimes not, so the only way of make sure you get what you want from the beginning is selecting then restarting. It's similar to Thief's ILs where the runner stole all the loot available in preceeding level to get the full equipment in the level he was running, yet when speedrunning that preceeding one, he didn't bother with picking up any stuff. Though I don't know whether this will be accepted or rejected thus making a precedent or not Smiley

Yeah that's correct I guess, everyone could use it so noone (Or everyone) benefits Wink

Anyway, got a new time: Gardens of Hell in 1:04.

Stupid little stuck-up on a corner on the staircase near the end...
The character control ends when Delgado pulls up the gate and that animation starts when your crosshair disappears, so that's when timing should be stopped.
So compared to Xiaopang's run, I improved it with about 11 seconds (I couldn't precisely time it since I couldn't open his video in VirtualDub).

You didn't update Blood in the table yet by the way Wink

EDIT: I've found some glitchy thingy with Church and the arrow action sequences, at least it works in Temple of Pain. I also tried it in Rivers of Blood near the end with the big beasty but there it didn't work, and I also tried it in Sewers when Church needs to climb in the dark pathway but there it didn't work either (This one is also not an arrow action sequence). In Temple of Pain it's not exactly useful though Smiley

EDIT: 2 more videos of useless things Wink

Making a character stuck in Imperium.
Doing some character switching stuff in The Low Road.

New time: Black Rose in 2:55.

Timing starts after the first cutscene and ends when your crosshair disappears when you've activated the teleport thingy.

The ghosts were killed pretty fast, faster than I expected during the attempt Wink
Heh, when Maltheus said "kneel before me" I actually did that, but it wasn't because he said it. I just wanted to check the smoke and bottom of his robe a bit trying to move under it... 8)
I also once had Maltheus move up at the end and then he vanished while his last speech was still playing. I'm not sure what caused that or if it was really faster (Maybe the speech got delayed somehow?).

EDIT: WAM! Guts in 1:45 Smiley

Timing stops when the crosshair disappears again at the end.

Yes an annoying level, but this was a very nice run Smiley I just kept restarting until the Gladiator decided to not attack me (And my team wasn't constantly dying...).

EDIT: I just found some railing glitches.

Video

The one from Jones is useful if you need to climb over a railing and then drop down quite a distance because he'll be teleported to the ground instantly so you could move on a bit sooner.
To do the one with Delgado, activate one of his 2 powers and then press the Pistol key (Or the Gattling Gun key if you have the Pistol equipped) and then climb over it.
New time: The Low Road in 1:55.

Pretty good run, a tiny bump against the first Cultist and a few rough edges on some walking parts, but it was already quite tricky to get 1:55 so I'm leaving it at this for now Wink I guess you can put this one as "likely final time" on the list.
Any news from you guys?
Vae Victus!
Man, your runs are insane! You break almost everything I'd ever though of and it's not just smoother or more lucky - it's totally uncomparable to what I could achieve so far. I'm paused in this run for now, I don't want to work on levels you'll beat by 20 impossible seconds or more Smiley I'll surely try to beat your Skin or Flesh. I also think that Pyxis might be done quicker (unless you measured possessing time and it's fixed - then beating your time by frames would only be possible). Anyway each level you upload, I don't know what to say - I'm just astonished and impressed by your work. What's your trick - 40 hours of playing a day or just an experience or talent?

Low Road is nice - I never thought of switching character after pulling that lever - raising the last gate was a bit mysterious to me. And now I ses that it's just about attracting monsters behind, no matter how. And you use slightly different route in the middle - I never used it actually Smiley
Do you use railing glitches here except for the one when jumping down to this destroyed rubble and lava filled room?

It was also funny how you tried to switch to a different character. I even thought that you'll end up with some success Wink

Black Rose is nice, you also use Jones (Xiaopang prefers demon here). Did you manage to get one shield drop kill every time? Xiao had no success there and was never able to kill him right away as you and I did.

Did you figure out whether Vicuss has fixed hit points or not? I used Delgado's chaingun fire to kill him, Anoki used Black's grenades - is Jones the fastest way to kill him or was it luck in this attempt?

Gardens of Hell - you are very lucky with ignoring the enemies and your team killing them. It seems that the firedemon also lives a bit long here Wink Anyway the monster on this level are randomly spawned so that the gate does not always opens when you reach it. It was near-perfect run in terms of moving with lots of luck. Or it was me who was unlucky or not patient enough to repeat the same level hundrets of times with no success?

You're surely no. 1 here now. Grats!

Alright, good luck. I still need to start polishing them myself Wink

Actually the only things that count in Pyxis Prima is the possession of the characters and the execution of their power, the time inbetween is just waiting for The Firstborn to teleport around and take over the next character. Perhaps you could luck manipulate his time needed to teleport around, but I think that's pretty much a fixed time. He does turn around sometimes when he has teleported so you "could" manipulate that maybe, to manipulate him in doing his attack faster although you then most likely get hit which in turn isn't too good since then you'll lose time with switching characters.
Give it your best shot Smiley

A mixture of all I guess Wink

Yeah I was a bit puzzled about it too at first, but then I noticed that you just need to attract their attention.

No railing glitches used, Delgado's railing glitch doesn't seem to speed anything up since he'll just slowly clips through it.

Yeah, unfortunately it didn't prove to be useful Smiley

(Xiaopang prefers demon here)

The demon is pretty useful, but the demon's flying time is and/or can be the negative part of it. I still think using the Shotgun from Jones is the fastest way if done correctly. Sometimes the enemies require 2 shots to be killed and sometimes 1...

Quote:

Usually yes. I noticed that when you shoot him in the stomach, you can kill him in the first round. If you aim at his head, he often does not go down in the first round. You can also shoot at his head 5 times with the normal bullets from Black, but only when he has lowered his head (So not when he gets the head knockback after a shot). I wasn't really sure which one would be faster but I think Delgado is just a bit faster.

It always took the same amount of shots to kill him. From my checking Jones was the fastest, Delgado's Handgun is a close second.

Yeah the end part in this level with the shielded enemies and the demon is one big luck fest. So I just kept restarting until it all cooperated. The level is easy though, just a bit of running, activating the demon, and then run to the end and pray Grin Repeat if failure...

Thanks Wink

Oh, to keep the table up-to-date, I also achieved a 2:29 for The GodSeal but I'm not happy with it yet.

EDIT: The Storm in 1:40.

Chopped 4 frames so you can call this one final in the table Smiley Exact time is 1:40.967 and I highly doubt a 1:39 is possible.

EDIT: Green in 4:00.

Not final yet as the first part wasn't too good with the first Cultist (The team still nicely moved on though). Timing stops when your GUI disappears at the end (It's actually not just your crosshair, but your whole GUI. You might want to change that in the table with the other levels, or remove it completely since it's just a general timing thing because character control then stops :)).

Operation Vigil in 0:44

Compared to your run this is a 2 second improvement since control ends a bit earlier again.
I was always under the impression that the run from you for this level was pretty much final.
I checked it a bit closer and it appeared that the death of the Cultist triggers the door to open. So I'm firing immediately after I get out of dialog mode to get his attention so that he'll come to me. And this was the main improvement factor.
The one shot at the corpse's head at the end is funny by the way Wink
Oh and I'm declaring this one final, I don't think another second can go off of it.

Hey guys, pretty much as the title says. I'm a bit intimidated by my guilty pleasure of a game. It's been ran before in 2009 but people seemed to have abandoned it. Now I'm curious if the game can't be improved anymore or what the reasoning was.

I'm wondering what any of the "new guys that started picking up where others left off" experiences or modus operandi was.

**Edit I probably should've done this in pc games discussion. Sorry first post here and failed to post in new guys thread.
Look for existing threads (as with all forums). BTW: I don't quite understand what you mean by experiences or modus operandi. You mean how to go about looking for improvements?
