Cash bounties for speedruns

I never had a Sega Master System, so I haven't even heard of Alex Kidd in the Miracle World. However, I'll look into it. If it's a game I end up liking, I wouldn't mind trying to speedrun it.

However, I must say, I laughed pretty hard reading that there was a 400 dollar bounty for Metroid Prime in 59 minutes.

That if you really want the player to get all the pendants and crystals...

On another hand, if you want a low% glitched run, it is possible to finish the game with only sword and shield and it would be legit. I'd say it wouldn't be possible to get under 4 mins with this kind of glitch though.

ktwo: Will the bounty for Snake Rattle N Roll get extended past dec 31 2009? I've been working at it, and I'm pretty close to getting some successful warpless & deathless runs, but it will likely be after the holidays before i get a solid one that's submission-worthy.

Man this sucks. I would love to run SotN Richter since I could just download it off of PSN (even though I don't have the actual game) BUT for some reason my DVD recorder only picks up my Wii/Gamecube. fffffffffffffffff

However, I have been meaning to run Galaxy for a number of reasons. Mainly being that I looooooooooooooooooove the game, and I've actually tried my hand at beating the 1:52 run for Sunshine that's up right now (so I have some experience with speedrunning a 3D mario game), and I don't actually have any submissions to SDA. Plus there's no run at SDA for it, so I may go ahead and do it. Sounds like a nice game to run.

I'm very glad to hear that you're working on this. The answer is yes. No need to rush, you can take your time.

@TheQuietMan : I think having due dates next to my bounties (Amped 2, Rygar, Snake Rattle 'n Roll and Solomon's Key) on the first page is misleading. The due date is renewed on a 6 months basis. If I don't say anything, the idea is that they are automatically renewed.

I've recently been running de Blob for Wii, but I'm going away soon and I'll be moving out when I get back. As the Wii isn't mine (it's my brother's), there's no guarantee I'll be able to complete the remainder of the levels in the forseeable future.

So, I'm putting out a call for help! I've done five levels, there's five more to go. Bounty is $10 per completed level, including if you beat one of my existing times, which I've provided videos for in the de Blob topic. Bounty to be paid when all levels are verified and accepted.

And speaking of that topic, I'll be making a detailed post with all the nuances of the scoring system that I'm aware of shortly.

EDIT: forgot a deadline, let's say the end of next year.

By the way, I've taken down the bounties that were due at the end of 2009. These included Dungeon Keeper 1 (€25), Earthworm Jim ($10), Homeworld ($25), Giants (€50), Theme Hospital ($25), and Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure (Sega Genesis) ($25). There was also a Twisted Metal 2 bounty ($50) that had a due date of January 1st 2010.

After thinking about this for some time, I decided that for 2010, I can post a few $20 bounties throughout the year as a way to promote new games on SDA... At first I thought of posting all of them at once, but then realized that I can go bankrupted very fast if I do that, so I will just do one at a time...

First Bounty: A while back, I "attempted" a speed run of Muramasa: The Demon Blade on the wii and got a time of 2 hours and 22 minutes... The run was rejected since it was very disorganized and alot of other things that I would perfer not to talk about, but moving along... This first bounty is simple...

A $20 Bounty for Muramasa: The Demon Blade... You are use either of the two characters, but the main catch is that the run needs to be under 2 hours...

That's right under 2 hours!

If you submit a run and it is over two hours, it will be a judgement call and the bounty will be reduced to just $10, but considering that a 22+ minute improvement is possible, I have no worries about that... As for a due date, I will set it to July 2010... That will leave a good 6 months to plan the run and perform it...

This game does deserve a spot on SDA, and if I have to resort to bounties to get some games set it, so be it (but it is still for a good cause though...)

Didn't post new bounties yet. The due date was meant for submission, not for verification or publication. Since you've submitted your run last year you'll still get the bounty if your run passes verification. I've expressed that unclearly, sorry for causing confusion Smiley

I knew there was something about that one which caused me to leave it up. I thought it was either being worked on, or completed and awaiting payment from the guy offering it. I checked the front page and discovered that both situations were true. If I remember correctly, it was being worked on a few months ago, an extention was offered, and then no one updated me as to its progress. It got verified Novemeber 20th, and I'll admit I completely missed it. Since it was a very large project and completed October 11th, I'm going to assume that the bounty will be paid.

LOL Someone want give only 25$ Metroid Prime 0.59 run. Without huge warps its not are possible time to reach. Even someone give 10000000000$ There is not guy who can reached it. This seems Zoid 1.03 is almost lowest possible time. I think super perfect Prime run can be done in 1.01 very high. Sub 1.01 is surely impossible if someone not find any major huge glitches. Wink

This is also true of 18 second Emerald Hill 1 in Sonic 2 it seems.

The TAS got 17 seconds for that level, but it's a TAS after all. I need to know from the Sonic 2 master if it's possible. I'll ask him if he still wants it up.

Stanski has spoken (in a PM). He wants his bounty to remain up and that he's gotten 19.1 before, and someone claimed to get 18 without save states using an emulator. This person would make $75 by backing up his claim. Just throwing that out there...
