Video taping yourself is only in regards to if proof is needed in regards to button mashing (if somebody believes you're using turbo, which is against the rules). Otherwise, recording yourself isn't necessary - just the game.
It was also required in the case of my Pokemon Fire Red "Elite 4 Round 2" run, as the game forces you to save and quit after beating the Elite 4 the first time, to prove continuity.
Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis) single-segment speedrun with all chaos emeralds In other words: get the good ending at the end of the credits.
Timeline: first person to have their run accepted and posted on SDA will get bounty (there is no due date)
Bounty will be paid through Paypal.
Note: It doesn't matter what console you play it on (e.g. wii virtual console) as long as it is the Sega Genesis version of the game and a single segment run (no save states used from PSN/Xbox-Live versions). -I have removed the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 bounty, getting chaos emeralds in that game was no longer fun, nor worth it.
Hey, it's been awhile since I've had the time to post. What with my work schedule and classes I really haven't been able to pop in nearly as much as I would have liked. Anyways, just a couple of quick things:
I spoke with Rane of SOTN about 2 months ago regarding my bounty, and he had said that if he were going to do it, then the expected start date would be about mid march of this year. Please confirm if this is the case, because I'd like for other SDA members to have a video to look forward to ;).
If that isn't the case, then the bounty still stands.
I've been enjoying the runs on SDA for a while now. I'm new to this forum.
Could I add a couple of bounties??
$25 for Twisted Metal 2 (for Playstation 1, of course) I know there is a runner working on this right now. I will pay for any verified run. I will pay now through July 31, 2009.
$20 for Diablo II sub-70 minute run I know this is also in progress I will pay now through July 31, 2009.
Hey, so I posted the bounty for new system runs, and then I left for a year or so, but I don't have any messages requesting the bounties that I'm sure a few people deserve. I'm going to take a look at what runs were on new systems and contact those people. I just wanted to let everyone know that the offer still stands.
From what I can tell, since I posted in January of 2008, the only new system is a TG-16 game. If there's a different system I'm missing let me know so I can pay you. Thanks.
Edit: So, Lord_VG was sent $5.00 for Castlevania: Rondo of Blood for being the first TG-16 game hosted on the site. Just to clarify, official emulators can count as the new system.
I looked through the PS3 games, but all of them appear to be either played on the PC or Xbox360, so that's still up for grabs.
The Toejam and Earl and Twisted Metal Bounties posted by InsipidMuckyWater are coming down in less than a month. If you are currently speedrunning these games, please contact him with your plans so that arrangements can be made for expected finish dates. Remember, it pays to finish a good speedrun than rush and produce a mediocre one, so discussions with the offerer are encouraged.
The Secret of Mana bounty has also expired, but I'm sure Rask will put it back up if anyone shows results.
Quote from FiveMagics:
i would like to make a bounty for mystic defender for sega genesis no deaths, and %. $25 for segmented $40 for ss
I've been trying to get a hold of Mkt2015 for a week now, and he hasn't answered at the email he has listed on his profile. Since he hasn't been around all year, I'd guess his bounties aren't available anymore. I'll let you know if anything changes though; how long should we wait?

Mkt2015 is still around ... i've been in contact with him for the bounty he put on a PoP:TTT SS run, which i completed and is being verified right now. It takes him a while to respond to emails though, but he said the PoP:TTT bounty was still up and that if it gets accepted he'll pay me. So, maybe just wait a little longer to hear back from him ...
I've decided to add some bounties of my own. First, I'd like to do an improvement run for pokemon sapphire to prove that I can, but a single-segment run is beyond my current skill. Therefore I would like to post a $25 bounty for a single-segment Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire run. Either game would most likely be run using mudkip, but torchic would be more impressive. Unexpected too since getting past Roxanne and compensating for being underlevelled would have to be dealt with.
If $25 sounds too low I can sweeten the pot. For every other person who adds a minimum $5 bounty I'll throw in another $5, up to a maximum of $50. So the bounty could go up to $75 from me and at least $50 from anyone else. If everyone else does this (matches the others additions) we could have a very nice prize going. Next time I should get everyone in on this first to make sure there's a good bounty first.
Second, I'd like to start some interest in Blue Dragon. I know a speed-run of it can be done easily, but no one else seems intersted because of that. So I'm offering $50 to whoever gets a run done before I do. Unless there's a rule that I can't post a bounty on a game I'm working on. Conflict of interest or whatever. I'd just like some help with it, and I'm willing to keep contributing everthing I learn about it. I don't care if I'm the one who gets the record, I just like to see games beaten quickly. I'd also like to point out the game itself is only $10-15 nowadays. Actally I'm so desparate for someone to care about it other than me I've actually considered buying people a copy of the game if they wanted to help.
On a final note, hey the scroll bar isn't jumping, I mean the runs need to be accepted by SDA and I can only pay through paypal.
Edit: In case it isn't obvious, Blue Dragon should be segmented, although if you single-segment it you'd have to record yourself changing the game discs. Both runs would also be an any% run.
I'm going to go ahead and slap up a bounty of my own. To whomever can beat my Fire Red "Elite 4 Round 2" Single Segment run, on either Leaf Green or Fire Red, will get a prize. The bounty will be $1 for each minute the run is faster than my current 5:16. The record must stand for 2 months prior to payment (this means that if someone else submits a run on or before the cutoff line that beats yours, you'll then have 2 months to take it back, for even more money.) The two months time starts the minute Mike notifies us that the run was accepted.
EDIT: Since TQM is lazy and hasn't updated this just yet, I don't feel too bad about adding this. The run MUST be sub-5 to qualify for the bounty. So, for TQM's reference, it can be listed as " $17+," or "$1 per minute faster," whichever sounds better.
Pfffft... I leave this topic alone for half a day and that makes me lazy? That's as dumb a claim as saying someone is able to beat your E4R2 run by at least 17 minutes.
