My feelings on The Demon Rush
TQM: My Magican Lord bounty is good for as long as I'm a mod.

Rask: I'm not sure if giving someone less than 2 months to complete a long run like Secret of Mana is feasible.
Wow, I shouldn't have disappeared, there's a Pokemon red/blue SS, and there was a Cave of Ordeals run!  Grin

Ultimate Darius is paid, I'm proud to say.  He obviously deserved it.

So could someone help me out by telling me who Jacob McMillin is, or better yet by asking him to send me a PM?  Also, I do want to pay the Cave of Ordeals runner.  Could someone tell me who ran that, and if possible send him to my PM box too?  Yeah I'm lazy  Roll Eyes  Oh, and if the Cave of Ordeals run is on the internet, it would be great if The Quiet Man could link to it in the first post like I did with the Okami races.

I only have a working PC at the library right now, so I need some help.  I'll try to poke my head in again by the middle of next week.  Thanks!

I see you've asked in the Pokemon thread about McMillin, you've been replied to, and this is the guy you want:

Thanks Thomaz!

It looks like the Cave of Ordeals runner is none other than Daniel "SoulCalibrII" Chamness:

It got rejected though.

I also updated the first post to include your paid bounty.

The_Quiet_Man, you are awesome, a big thank you.  I will do my best to contact both those people.

edit: Well, no luck so far, Mr. McMillan has not contacted me, and soulcaliburii from YouTube doesn't want to start a Paypal account.  I probably won't be online for a while, maybe in another month I'll log on again, but if either of those people want the green paper I owe them (well, guess it's not green on Paypal), please send me a PM.

Does this mean I have time to beat the current Red SS run for the money?  lol

Better come back fairly soon, because I finished my elite 4 round 2 fire red run, and am anticipating more monies Smiley
... for a dream, of course.
Well, seeing that Siyko's Diablo 2 solo run is nearly completed i'm going to set a deadline for the other one (Diablo 2, all quests, all 3 difficulties, group run): December 31 of this year.

I doubt that any group completes this bounty, but i think, in my humble opinion, that nine months (my bounties were posted on March) is 'enough' time :). I'm thinking into offering more bounties and i want to 'clean' the old ones.

...

The_Quiet_Man, what about adding another column, called 'Deadline' or 'Due date', to the first post of this thread?.

A lot of them don't actually have due dates as of yet, and another column would squish things even more (especially an empty one), so I'm not to keen on it. I added one anyway just for a test. I'd like everyone to let me know what they think about it. Did it make it better or worse?

I'm on 1280x1024 and it still feels squished. Since so few have deadlines, how about just appending the deadline, in bold and a different color, to the description? For example,

Diablo 2 ________ All 3 difficulties, all quests [31 Dec 2008] ________ $150-200 _________ Requiem ______ Here

The undescores of course simulate the fact that I'm too lazy to make and populate a table.

You can also add a line before the table indicating that [whatever color you select] denotes a deadline for submission to SDA.
... for a dream, of course.
I'm on 1680 x 1050 and feels ok (yeah, isn't the most popular screen resolution). You could use font size tag to adjust all columns (try with 8pt).
I'm going to offer the following bounty for VAGRANT STORY

$ 50 within 1 year accepted at SDA
$ 50 additional for within 6 monthes
$ 50 additional for a sub 3 hour first play through run
$ 50 additional for a sub 2 hour first play through run

$ 200 Possible REAL MONEY

I hope this may give some incentive  Wink

If sub-2 hours is possible, then I would just give 100 dollars for sub-2 hours, rather than an extra 50 dollars on top of sub-3 hours. That extra hour will be painful to watch otherwise.

Good news!

For now I just want to get in contact with the first SS runner of Pokemon Red (Jacob).  Please, if anybody knows how to get in contact with him could you ask him to send me a PM?  I owe him a hundred bucks and I didn't try to contact him until two months or more after he earned the cash.  (I want to pay soulcaliburii for the Zelda TP thing too.)

UltimateDarius, if you are serious about running Pokemon Red, and you think you can take the time down further, who am I to argue Smiley  Go ahead, the bounty's still out there.  You've already proven that you are a Pokemon SS speedrun animal.

Updated the bounty list and changed things a little. I have a widescreen monitor too (not quite as big though), but with a new column, things were getting squished. Feedback is still needed. Would you guys prefer a smaller font size, even without the new column? Or keep it the same size and bring the due date one back?
Just a little idea I suddenly had, maybe make the game names (Or the prizes) link to the details pages? Would cut off 1 column.
If I had enough money, I'd offer a bounty for a deathless Halo CE run that's faster than the current one on HSH.
Or for an Amiga speedrun (SDA desperately needs Amiga speedruns). But I don't have any euros at all. I'm a poor guy. Grin

I like for people to be able to compare bounty prizes, but how about the "Offer by" column. Is that really needed? I'll let you guys decide again.

Are you going to hold a poll on that? We need more polls Grin

I suppose you could check who's offering the bounty through the links, but I think the "Offer by" is good to have there. I consider it a useful feature.

Edit: If you're running out of space you could always merge the offer by & details so that the name would redirect to the details. It might cause confusion, though, if people assume the links lead to the offerer's profile.
$25 for an any% speedrun of Daxter. My only special requirement is that you don't use the waterslide on Lumbermill.

A sub-2 hour run may not be feasable for a first time play through. I still want someone to try however.

$50 for an SDA accepted single segment run of either Twisted Metal, Twisted Metal 2, or Twisted Metal: Black; unlockable characters must be approved for use.

You can use anyone in Black, since you unlock them (I forgot if you can use Minion in single-player). You might want to give 100 dollars to anyone who does a run on hard mode.

I guess you can use the character-unlocking passwords in 2 (there is no memory card support), but you should make Minion an exception because beating the game with him is stupidly easy.

IIRC, there are no alternate character codes in the first game, and it has also aged pretty poorly. Sad

When I said 'approved,' I meant that I had to allow it to earn the bounty, not SDA.  Yes, Minion in TM2 was primarily who I was forbidding, but now that I think about it, the OTHER character I didn't want to see was also Minion in TM:Black... I forgot he had the same name since the vehicle was totally different.  And I originally wrote, "Twisted Metal: Head-On" up there as well, which had a ton of unlockable characters (such as Dark Tooth), but I changed it so people would focus on the truly classic iterations first, so I guess that takes care of those troublemakers, as well.

So yeah, I guess I'm only forbidding Minion now.

As for hard mode, I'd rather not.  I'm more interested in getting the ball rolling.  But, I will stipulate that the run must at least be on normal difficulty or whatever is default (assuming it's not Easy).

Quiet Man: Nevermind the unlockable stipulation.  Instead, just write "No Minion" or what have you.  Also, Normal difficulty or higher.
