You can look at paid bounties in the first post. But if you look at the news in the first post, it doesn't matter what the old answer is because a new one is about to win.
First off, are there any specific rules for the Pokemon ones, aside from the no traded pokes and single segment? Secondly, is there no longer any interest in a Super Mario 3 100% run? I believe that the current record is almost 2 years old...
You should read SDA's rules page if you haven't already, because the run has to make it onto SDA in order for there to be payment.
But as for rules specific to my Pokemon bounties, there really aren't any. In fact for Red/Blue/Yellow I'm very willing to pay that one more than once if people achieve runs that qualify as different categories on this site (categories probably being Uses Only Pokemon Normally Available and Uses Glitches To Obtain Powerful Pokemon and Pokemon Yellow [one or the other of the above]).
There is already work going on for the Pokemon ones though, so there is major competition. You could check the threads under Older Consoles.
It´s time for Frezyman´s ( crazy ) Bounty Hunting 2008.
I will give three bountys for three NES games. It is possible that this will cost me more then 1100 US dollars. This is no joke. I will pay everything before January 31, 2009. Except for werewolf which will be payed after the run is posted.
Mega man 3
Mega man 6
Werewolf - The last warrior
---
Mega man 3 - Fastest run 2008. ( 300 US DOLLARS! )
RULES: - The run has to be made on the original NES ( NTSC US ) version. And as usual, no Rapid fire/Turbo buttons. If you shoot clearly faster then anyone else you may need video proof that you can shoot this fast.
- You have to follow SDA's rules and it has to be posted and verified here at SDA.
- SDA need to have the video in their hands before 2009. Maybe it will be posted later than that.
- During the year. If you post the run early. You will get 20 US dollars for every 30 days the run stands. Even if you run will be beaten later.
- It has to be a run faster than 40 minutes.
- The run have to be single segment.

This game is a bitch to even finish. There is a chance that there will be problems finding verifiers for this one. And that your run has to be fast enough and impress the verifiers.
RULES: It's simple. You have to finish the game without dying and follow the rules of SDA. You may use the PAL or NTSC NES versions. SDA need the video before 2009.
Whoa frezy, I'm a little confused though. Are you going to pay the MM3 and 6 runners after the year is over? It wouldn't make much sense to pay otherwise, because then someone who does a faster run would get squat.
Every 30 day the run stands the runner will get 20 bucks. I could payed it right after but the chance is that it will be lots of payments. I thought the best idea would be to pay everything after the bounties are over.
I think that will be better to the guy who wins 300 bucks. He will get a great bonus if the run where stand a couple of months.
If another runner had the record for a while before him he will get some money too.. Yes. The runner who get a 30 days payment will get the money even if the run was beaten later.
Do you guys think the 30 days payment is better to be paid after every 30 day? I may change the day of a payment then
Isn't there already a Mega Man 3 run? Yep, although I guess it's slower than you'd like to see.
I'll put up a bounty. I'll pay out $5 for each run on a system that currently does not have a speed run on SDA. This includes Neo-Geo, Turbo Grafix, DOS, and I'm sure many other platforms. I'm guessing PS3 will be the first one I'll pay out, but I have no idea about the rest. Good luck.
The only limiting factors are I'll only pay this for the first run on that system, and the run must be accepted on SDA. As for a time limit? No time limit. Just be the first for the system and I'll pay out unless for some reason this becomes too costly, then I'll discontinue it after that point is reached.
its actually two Mega Man 3 runs already. My own PAL NES run and also another NTSC Gamcube run made on the annevarsary collection.
The 40 minutes rule is because everything under 40 minutes is very good and I have finished a couple of runs between 40 and 41 minutes. a couple of times I would have got runs under 40 minutes... If I hadn´t died. A few more tries from me would probably get a run under 40 minutes. I´m not sure I can get under 39 though.
Luca Barbetta just posted a Mario Kart Super Circuit cash bounty on the Mario Kart forum. The goal is to finish Rainbow Road in less than 34''63. The prize is 100 Euro (about $147). The deadline is the end of 2008. More information available here (make sure you read the proof requirements):

Another reason to get serious about that Bonk run...
Would Neo Geo runs be separate for AES and CD systems? It'll probably be a while before we see an AES run here; still expensive systems. And would Turbo CD be separate from Turbografx or just an add-on?
Neo Geo: No, there are very few games that are exclusive to the Neo CD, and the only game I can think of off the top of my head is a shmup. Most games are just simple ports with better audio but incredibly horrid load times (1x speed cd drive, anyone?)
TurboGrafx/PC Engine: Yes, there are quite a few CD-exclusive games on the Turbo CD, such as Akumajou Dracula: Chi no Rondo

One would think the author of the current record could easily record one a hundredth of a second faster. On laps 1 and 2 he takes the final landing/turn about a kart-width further out then he needs to... working on that and the initial power slide alone would certainly allow him to beat his current time.
At any rate, he seems in the best position to do it. I gather the actual performance of that is extremely difficult to do consistently but if he managed to make a WR with a noticable error he could in theory improve his own WR by a hundredth of a second. There are even others with sub-11 second lap times posted. Could it turn out to be one of the fastest bounties ever claimed?

Understood. Is it Last Resort on the NG that you're thinking of?
If I had the money, I'd buy a CD Drive or a Duo today just for Dracula X. The music alone is incredible! Too bad the PCE/TG-16 had so many shooters, not a whole lot of good speed running available. Oh well, theres always Superplays!

It's actually some other random shmup called brikringer or something like that. I know that's not the exact name, but I honestly forgot what the real name is.

One of the reasons for the bounty is that some people don't trust Hirano's time, so Luca wants there to be a well proven world record. It'll be interesting to see if Hirano will make an attempt to meet Luca's proof requirements, now that there's money involved. Personally, I doubt that Hirano will attempt the challenge. I think our best bet right now is Sebastian Stellmacher.

If he's too close to the right side, then he'd need to wait longer before using the mushroom, which would slow him down.

All of the sub-11 laps have been done with more than 1 mushroom. As far as I know, no one has ever beaten any of Hirano's laps with only 1 mushroom.

Hirano's time is almost perfect and has gone unbeaten for years, even though many good players have tried and failed, so I'd say it's one of the harder bounties.

OK, I remember something with a rather odd name like that now.
I assume that playing emulated games (ala Pitfall II on GBA) will NOT count as new systems.

I see now that I was mistaken and it's also obvious now why some people don't trust that time. He really ought to at least attempt this if his record is that much in question, but if it's years we're talking about, well I see what's happened here. I now see that bounty is as hellish as any of the craziest in this thread.
