I love scotch...
Hi all,

Been browsing the site for a couple of months now and I thought it's time I got more involved. Smiley

Sorry if this is a completely n00b question, but I'd like to set about making a speed run of Dark Forces.  I'm on WinXP and the problem is the game shells out to DOS, and Fraps and Camtasia don't seem to want to capture it (unless I'm doing something wrong with them of course).

Has this been a problem in the past?  Only I seem to recall Doom shelling out too, yet I've seen Speed Runs of that.

If push comes to shove, I've got video in/out on my card, but I just figure it'd keep the quality higher if I could capture directly without bringing my VCR into play.

Cheers in advance,

I'm addicted to games
So far I haven't seen any 100% reliable ways to record DOS games besides outputting to a vcr and capturing it back.

Gah, fair enough.  That's what I'll do then Smiley

I had tried to use Dosbox, thinking I could use Camtasia on the window, but it ran DF at about 2fps.  Yes, I game that my phone could run! :|

Ah well, cheers for that!
I think this will take some time...
