Foppies!
Alright, so I have a capture card and Virtualdub. But, following Nate's instructions over at Metroid 2002, I get files that run about 20 megs for 15 seconds, and running them through Huffyuv with all the correct settings actually doubles the size of the file with no visible improvement in quality.
I don't have very much hard drive space to go around, (2 to 3 gigabytes left) so I need to know how to capture in medium-to-low quality so I don't run out of space in the middle of a run.

i don't know what you mean by "running them through huffyuv". You should be capturing in huffyuv. It's about a gig every 10-13 minutes.

Well, hmm... I might be able to capture these runs, then, but when I save them and then go to compress them, they double in size for no apparent reason. What type of compression should I be using?
I'm addicted to games
DivX for the compression... which is in nate's faq.
Foppies!
H'okay, so when I use DivX... The file quadruples in size. On the lowest possible settings.

Then you're obviously doing something wrong. Read the faq more carefully.
