can you limit your framerate?

I need to do something wich only works with very poor framerate. I can start up a lot of programs then quake at the highest resolution, but maybe there's just a command for it,
anyone?

also try maybe lowering rate... or raising resolution... that kind of stuff

Yeah, up the resolution, hog the processor or find an old 486 with 4M ram. (And THEN up the res) :-)

Well i started up quake on vid_mode 13 3 x put the mipscale and shit like that full on, had a real frustrating(i hate to play high res especially when it stutters like fuck) hour but I got it!
I have all levels done now. I geuss it's time for refilming and the stupid story Smiley

There is a program named CPUkiller and very usefull for playing vith some old gamez.

Is is allowed to use it for low-framerate tricks ?

PS : You can also switch to 1204*768.

Controlled CPU hogging.

You could use a program like Adobe Premiere to render a video file. If you use the DivX codec, you can tell it to only take 90% of the CPU speed. This will slow down your computer to 10% of the original speed!

However, my favorite is graphics hogging. Just turn on all details in the game you want to play, and turn on FSAA on your video card. This last one is very important. It will slow down your FPS considerably.

I've found the following; if you use winquake and set d_mipcap and d_mipscale to 0, things go very slow at least for me. In a way that makes framerate toggleable because you can bind that to a key.

With this i've actually been able to perform the windtunnel quickstops once or twice. Doesn't seem to help the e1m1 slime secret upping though.
