So I got myself a RGB Scart cable for my Megadrive (and probably one for my NTSC Super Nintendo soon).

- I am looking for a splitter that splits actual RGB Scart signal, I want to connect one half to the DVD recorder and record it in RGB mode and the other half to the TV to play it without any input lag at all.

- I can still livestream by using an output regular scart to composite add-on to the back of my TV and connect it to a composite USB capture card.

I use one of these:
http://www.soundbasemegastore.com/distribution-amplifiers/23454-shinybow-uk-version-4-x-scart-av-distribution-amplifier-5015972023839.html

Don't know if I can recommend it though. I'm currently having issues with my capture setup where the image gets alot of "heatwaves". Though I suspect it's my SNES-console. I will look into it sometime during his week or weekend and try my Sega Genesis to potentially rule out the distributor.

If you are looking into buying one. I recommend this swedish retailer: http://www.kungstv.se/kablar-adaptrar/bildljud-frdelareswitchar/scart-splitter-4
They arey currently selling what's left of thier stock for 199 SEK (25$).

I've also got a Shinybow distributor. There is some tiny bit of quality degradation, but I've yet to see a perfect SCART splitter.

I have yet to see a single good scart splitter. Most are rubbish.. and the better ones still degrade the image. Doesn't your dvd recorder split the image?
I know VCRs do a WAY better job at splitting scart.
I use this one http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/318HV3F820L._SL500_AA300_.jpg (Philips VR 260)

Edit: Nvm they don't split scart they only have 1 scart out, and a few in.

I'd get a powered SCART splitter or just use a breakout cable and use a powered RCA splitter with RGB+sync cables. Not 100% sure on the RCA splitting but technically it should work as it only preserves the signals, a component splitter could work for this as it just uses a different color space.

Just remember that you can always break the SCART connector all the way down to individual signal cables and then "rebuild" it again to a fully connected SCART connector, makes it easier when you need to extract and process some signals from it.

If you're thinking about going the route of Scart->RCA->splitter, then I would (sort of) recommend getting a VGA splitter assuming you can get something that goes from scart->HD15(VGA). VGA splitters are pretty much just RGB splitters anyway, and can often be used to split other video signals as well.

I use a monoprice VGA splitter along with some of these to split component video, which was a lot cheaper for me than buying a component splitter.

The only downside would be that you need to find some way to split the audio seperately.

The heatwaves I spoke about was caused by having an AC adapter for the SNES. Switching to DC solved this problem.

You can always watch my World of Illusion run. That was recorded with the SCART-splitter and RGB cables from a Genesis-2.
Nvm. Quality is not good enough to show a good difference.
Kachou ON!
Wow awesome tip with the swedish retailer! I searched the whole internet for a cheap one! But it seems that they only ship to Sweden, I wrote them a email, wish me luck. Smiley
Hey Eyeless, what was the verdict?

Since this thread is over a year old …
I got one of those Swedish scart splitters directly from Edenal, and I'm sure anybody would act as a helper if you're coming to ESA. If you're not, I'm also sure that one of the Swedish guys/gals will be fine with getting one shipped to them, and shipping it on Wink (But that's for the Swedes to decide)

HELLO!
TV with RGB passthrough is generally the best bet I think.
