Ok, now that the game is now released, I think it's time for a thread to be opened. Both for Single Player and Co-op campaigns.

I didn't play the game yet (because it only releases on the 27th in Europe... *sighs*) , but as the campaign is like 5-6 hours long for a normal playthrough, a speedrun would be between 1 and 3 hours, depending on the unskippable scripted sequences. I'll update this thread regularly for updates and things like that.

Are there actually situations where this is not applicable? It seems that every clip I see of it shows script after script after script...

Well, the main problem of the game is that you mostly wait for your NPCs to open doors most of the time. The only ways you can gain speed is by doing the shoot sequences quickly, and bunny hopping. To bunny hop, just sprint and jump. After the screen shake, you restart to sprint, and jump again. You have a little boost in speed, enough to shave some seconds. Doing a speedrun for the single player wouldn't be very fun, however in co-op it can be more interesting.

ChickenB0h BOH! :D
I've just played first few missions, cause I wanted to run it as my second BF game here, but... the game is just so ridiculous, can't stand playing it. Waiting all the way for NPCs instant-gib when moving too fast, just horrendous, sick, bad game! I really doubt it's speedrunable ;/ maybe will give it a try later but now I'm just too disgusted ;/ coop missions are pretty much the same, only one way to make it faster is doing shooting fast. There are some spots to run through(like last mission and famous bomb run) but not much, and not on higher difficulties, I'm bit disappointed to be honest.
Just because a game isn't speedrunnable doesn't make it a bad game.
it is to a speedrunner.

Don't forget the invisible walls.

You are leaving the combat area! Go back!, Stay in the area of operation. and such.

Lest We Forget
I have decided to Speedrun the Battlefield 3 single player campaign on easy Single Segment (just trying to get through the campaign is difficult enough to get through on normal and hard) on top of other games I'm Single Segmenting (MW2 campaign on Veteran Difficulty and Kirby's Nightmare in Dreamland Meta Knightmare mode 100%). This game will take less time to do single segmented, because if you try to do it segmented you have to deal with the interagation cutscenes twice. I will be doing it on Xbox 360.
Get over here!
I have completed a speedrun on easy in 3:12 but didn't record it. There's also been way too many mistakes I just wanted to see where I can start. Let's just say I encountered several funny things during my attempts. One being a not so enjoyable softlock when I tried a possible sequence break I discovered. Maybe there is a way around it. Have to try out a few more times but with the hard scrypts in this game it's difficult to find ways around them. All I can say now is that I'm certain I can get the time below 3 hours.
