100% runs=great to watch
www.super-play.co.uk   Recent submissions

I never even heard of these games until I saw them listed...but man....these are 2 of the best looking games I've ever seen for the 32 bit era machines.  Both are well played all things considered...neither game appears to be easy in the least.

Chippoke Ralph no Daibouken PSX
Shinrei Jusatsushi Taroumaru SATURN

The former game is just oozing with style/awesome death potentials.  GnG enthusiasts and anybody who likes platformers should love it.

The latter.....DAMN.  This game is a perfect union of Gunstar Heroes, Sin and Punishment, and Mystic Myth Asia-styled action.

Seriously, if ya wanna see some awesome games and good gaming efforts on them...go watch these runs.  To think games like these existed....who knows what awesome things will pop up next!?

Metal Slug X

Played like I've NEVER seen!  I don't even wanna know how....just that this is an AWESOME new vid to check out to anybody and everybody.

Suzaku and any other Metal Slug fan needs to watch the MASSIVE new superplay that just went up!
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Just a warning, all Metal Slug X high score runs feature a TON of points leeching.  I haven't seen this run yet, but to get a score that high you have to leech off of every single source available.

I'm not saying the run is bad, I'm just saying it won't be a speedrun.

Yep, seemingly the case form the first few min....really shows off all the game content and tons of little secrets I had no idea existed.  Winds up being about 2 hours....no vid or sound issues.  Hence why it be a "superplay" and not a speedrun.  8)
Call me dumb, but what is a "super play"?  Is it a high score run?  They never seem to answer that question anywhere on that site...
100% runs=great to watch
From what I can feel out on it....it depends.  Sometimes it is a full on high score run....like the Metal Slug run that was there.  Othertimes, it just seems to be focused on beating a game skillfully somehow or another...though not necessarily expressly with a speedrunning mindset.(usually no death or very few are sought though)  Each of the first 2 runs I listed match up with this....score could've been much higher, that much is clear to me, and the play could've been much faster, but overall they make for good full-game gameplay vids.

They are "plays" far greater than the average bear when playing a game by and large....hence "super".
has he said, its either high-score or just finish the game

like best score in ikaruga or no death in a gradius 3, 1 loop, with "no miss"
Did someone say Ikaruga double-play? =O

Winds of Thunder  AKA Lords of Thunder for Sega CD

On this one, the play is good, BUT....this game's score, for those that didn't know perhaps for lack of this game and/or a SEGA CD back in the day, is AUDIO SEX for metal/rock fans.  Hella awesome composition, and the Redbook OST can be had at Galbadia hotel.
Mushihimesama and Mushihimesama Futari, nuff said.
100% runs=great to watch
I noticed those, mushihimesama in particular.  Which vids would be THE ones to watch though?...seems to have several comprehensive sounding categories compared to most other games on the site.
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
Good job getter, you got me to watch 2 videos of games I wouldn't otherwise know existed, and they looked really cool. Especially that Ralph game.

Ironically, before I saw this post, I had already watched the two runs right before and right after those, that being Under Defeat. If you haven't checked those out, it's like a modern old school shmup. They look awesome enough for me to feel pretty bad about not having an imported DC. Also when you listen to that stage 5 song, your life will NEVER BE THE SAME!

I found out very recently that the composer for Under Defeat is the same guy who did Dragon Spirit way back when. Which makes sense because, this means he is some sort of shmup composing god!

Excellent...the thread served the cause...informing folk of awesome stuff. I agree on Ralph...can you IMAGINE a SLICK AS LUBED BUTTER no death run that tears the bosses to shreds in the fighter segments?  That would be an SDA award winner if it ever comes to pass.

At this point, I've seen pretty much every vid they have up at the site now save Mushihimesama Futari (tomorrow!)  Under Defeat was pretty slick looking...creative theme.

I was an avid fan of Dragon Spirit for the NES...and little did I know that there was a Tg-16 or some such version as well.  Cool as THAT is, what REALLY floored me is that there was a SEQUEL on that same platform by the name of Dragon Saber!

Really hope to see Superplays of those games one day...and crazy uptown shit like Summer Carnival 92' Recca for NES...I suspect no miss nigh impossible on that one.
