AmarecTv KB Page

There's still a lot to do, so the plan is to list what I know needs to be done here along with taking suggestions from others on what needs to be improved/added to the page itself. The end goal is to not only make it easy for people to setup and use the program and provide some more advanced uses and program combinations that are possible.

What's needed:
*(maybe not needed?) Expand the recording section
*Setup a proper streaming page
*Setup the Amamix page (listed as Advanced Audio Setups)
*Setup the Program Combinations page
*Setup the Troubleshooting page

Help is needed:
*Program combinations (as complete as possible, not simply suggestions, but directions/uses)
*Troubleshooting (with solutions/workarounds if possible)
*Proofreading the pages and making sure the info is accurate, easy to understand, adding links
*Anything that I may have missed

I'll update this page as I update the KB entry to keep track of what is needed to go on the page and what is done. Any suggestions should be posted in this thread. Please try to keep things constructive and only relevant to AmarecTv itself.

The Dork Knight himself.
One of the ideas I was looking into was how to use AmarecTv to record/stream with PC games.

The best idea I've come up with revolves around this combo: AmarecTv + SCFH + OBS/XSplit, and here's how it works:

1. Install SCFH. SCFH works as a software webcam that can capture your desktop, a specific program, or whatever you feel like grabbing from your desktop with custom resolutions and capture framerates.
2. Grab the game window/desktop content you wish to record and set the framerate.
3. Setup AmarecTv to use SCFH as your video source and choose your soundcard as the default sound source.
4. Record the footage.

I have run into certain issues with this, and the entire thing will be added to the guide. The good thing about this fix is that I've been able to record PC games (in windowed mode only for now) at any resolution with sound. The problems I've run into are making sure that the audio isn't stacked from AmarecTv's Preview window outputting the sound (which then gets looped back into the recordings, like putting a mic next to a speaker), properly playing while recording, and getting the audio to output properly.

The good news is that it's entirely possible to record PC games with AmarecTv + SCFH at full resolution in a lossless format (Lagarith or Huffyuv) with sound and still have the possibility to stream the footage. Also, using SCFH to grab the game footage doesn't limit your framerate like Fraps does. The major downside is working out the audio issues, with the biggest being that ANY sound your system produces will also be recorded in the footage. System beeps, steam alerts, etc etc, will have to be eliminated at the source (i.e. disabled from the program that generates them) but the video/sound quality are top notch.
