Looking forward to this run if it happens. Smiley
Here's level 1 in 1:09.

I chose Nina Rossow, Hypnotist, speed +2 & hypnosis +1. I got an implant which boosts both speed and armor. I got a better speed implant in another attempt that was a second slower, but it didn't boost armor and the speed difference wasn't that great, so I think it's an acceptable trade-off.

Upped speed from 44 to 49. Acquired the $290 shotgun.

Drop a comment if you want to and please tell me if there's anything wrong with the download link or if the quality looks reject-worthy or something (the quality is set to customish full resolution HQ's). I changed to Media Fire because FileFront is a pile of fail and YT refuses to cooperate to any extend. YT version or similar streaming link will be edited in when I get something to work out.
Weird, it doesn't play properly in MPC-HT, but it does in WMP. =\

As for the video quality, it resembles a NQ video to me.

The run itself looks good, though. Smiley I didn't see anything I could do faster without cheating...
Hmm, the resolution probably eats up some of the quality of the video.

As for level 2, I've gotten exactly 6:45 two or three times already. The team battles can probably be sped up a bit somehow, but I'm not sure how I should do it. Wandering off to get some money etc. seems to extend them. I'll try to get three level-ups in the next level, probably ten to speed and five to hypnosis...

The next level should showcase the power of hypnosis pretty well, it'll be fun. Smiley And it gets better later on!
Here's level 2 in 6:20, in two files: Rar 1 and rar 2. I had to split the segment in two rars to upload it to MF, sorry for the inconvenience.

Admittedly there are a couple of problems with this segment such as having some lag (five or so seconds' worth near the end - I'm pretty sure the game doesn't count lag, though), running out of ammo for the dual shotguns and promptly messing around with the weapon switching for a second, not only putting me in trouble since I was in the middle of a swarm but making me drop/glitch out the second shotgun as well, so I have to buy another in the next segment. I also died once for getting greedy. Luckily, none of this actually costs me any time, just the $290 that the shotgun costs. You'll see what I'm talking about.

I level up on three individual occasions instead of one because the game doesn't count the time you spend there anyway and I (at least feel like) I can cut the wait times a bit (or maybe trigger the wait in the first place) when I enter it. Besides that I can benefit from the level ups earlier this way.

To sum it up, I acquired $1200 MP5, $550 uzi, second $290 shotgun (and lost it later), $3100 or so worth of cash (I also got some extra ammo but I don't bother listing those) and a 1-up (which I happened to waste). Got three level ups as planned, too; +10 to speed and +5 to hypnosis.

For the record, I don't think getting the $3000 secret cost me any time since I would've had to wait for the hordes to stop spawning anyway. On the other hand I didn't get the $1250 shotgun or the $400 secret because going near them would've triggered a couple of more spawn points, making the fights last longer.

In the next segment I'll buy a blow torch w/ 300 ammo, another $290 shotgun with 1200 ammo, ~$8500 implant which boosts my speed by 16 or so and energy by 25 or so, and sell the rest of the stuff. Too bad I have to talk to Nicholas to afford it, but I get a mid-size medkit ($3500) and some exp out of it so it's well worth the few seconds. I'll probably get a level up in the next level, too.

I'm not entirely sure if I can afford the bazooka combo by level 4, but I'll try to figure something out.

Is there any difference between AS2: Vengeance and AS2: Reloaded as it's named on Steam? I've played both of them and I can't see any difference.

Alien Shooter 2 - Reloaded
Alien Shooter 2 - Reloaded is a modified version of the Alien Shooter 2 game. We started working on it right after release of AS2, taking into account the players' wishes. Well, here's the list of what we've done:
1. Size of the full version installation file was reduced to 300 Mb, compared to 1Gb of the original Alien Shooter 2. Large installation file prevented users with slow connection from buying and downloading the game.
2. Player upgrade parameters simplified. Now you don't need to develop separate skills for each weapon type, so you'll be able to complete the game using all the weapon types featured in it.
3. Two new missions added. Now the game features 17 full levels.
4. New individual shooting mode added - Gun Stand. You will use powerful military equipment to eliminate advancing enemy troops. As the game goes on, you will upgrade your weapon in different ways, and the right choice will let you win the battle!
Here's level 3 in 5:09 IIRC.

Shopped more or less as planned, even though I didn't get a couple of them as smoothly as I should've (looks clumsy, doesn't cost time because the game doesn't count it). Picked some random stuff and an armor and some money. Gained a level; +5 to speed. Probably going to need to level rifle skill at some point to handle the AK in level... 6, I think?

Level 4 should be way less than 2:30. The levels should be getting a lot faster from now on.
Level 4 in 2:09. Both deaths are completely intentional, although I didn't get the first one quite as fast as I had hoped. I did the secondary objective, too, so I can get an extra implant. I'll probably manipulate it to speed and rifles if I can.

Bought a bazooka and a grenade launcher, sold the blow torch. Ammo aside, nothing extra gained. Gained a level; +5 to speed to total of 84. Total time 14:48 at the end of level 4.

Hmm... there's a grenade launcher in level 5, but I'm not sure if I want to get it. You can get lots of money from it, but getting it takes probably at least ten seconds... there's also the problem of having many speed implants available, but using them would mean worse equipment otherwise. Not having a laser rifle for level 8 is a big problem... there's also the problem of getting an extra life to abuse the death teleporting in level 6.

Somehow I've been getting very lucky so far with the shop items, but having them available creates unexpected problems.

What should I do? I doubt I'll survive level 8 with double shotguns and a blow torch (a good armor is necessary to achieve a good speed through that level, too), but affording laser rifle (which would be the ideal solution for the level) is going to present problems, especially since it'd be incredibly useful in level 6, too.

Hi,
can you tell how do you manipulate the implants  Huh? From what i remember you cannot restart the level to have different implants in the shop  Undecided
When I talked about implant manipulation, I meant the one Nicholas gives you (because I did the secondary objective - yes, you can do that even though you don't do the secondary objective in level 3, you're just never told about it); all implants that are given to you (like the one Nicholas gives you and the starter implant) and the implants you find (unless I remember wrong) are all random every time you get them.

I'm not sure if the shop implants can be manipulated or not; either they are decided at the end of the last level or at the start of the game. It's also possible redoing a level doesn't change the implants, since I've had at least this one particular implant on level 5 I've always seen despite redoing level 4 a lot.
I redid level 4 because I found a much better way to deal with the money issue; there's a secret in level 5 that has an implant that can be worth up to $36000 or so. Of course, if it happens to give speed I'll just sell something else and live with it. I'll also be picking up a grenade launcher that's almost $9000 worth in cash. Comparing to this the level 4 secondary objective simply isn't worth doing.

There's only one problem with my current strategy - in order to do the death teleport skips in level 6 I need to get an extra life in either level 5 or level 6. It's more likely in level 6, but I don't like the idea of relying in such slight possibility when I want the segment done. Sure, with Laser Rifle the segment is fairly easy, but having to get an extra life probably makes it annoying. Then again I'd prefer having to deal with luck in level 6 rather than level 5, which has a lot of other stuff to worry about.

The level 4 time is 2:01. I'll post level 4 later once I've encoded it.

Accuracy is now the sole stat determining how much damage a gun does, FYI, and I dunno how the armor stat was effect. =\

so, yeah there's a big difference.

Ah ok. Haven't played Vengeance for about 2 years so the details kind of slipped my mind.
I thought I should make an update of sorts so people don't think I stopped at level 4. I've been doing good progress since the last time I posted, right now I'm done with level 13 and the total time so far is 30:28 IIRC. Since the next segment will be a bit more than two minutes (for good ending, meaning there's still level 15 after that), the run will be less than 35 minutes long in-game time, I believe.

I will take a bit of time off from running this due to unrelated reasons, but once I get back I'll be done within a few days. Level 14 should feature more death abuse. But before that, a question:

By selling various items (including ones that upgrade speed), I could afford the nuke launcher and artificial skill to operate it. While this move will drop my speed from 200 (max) to around 165 and makes me run the rest of the game with no armor, it should still be more than worth it due to the massive damage I can do to anyone and everything. Speed aside, there's another downside to it; the explosions are so graphically detailed and excessively overpowered that it might be hard to make out what's going on at times, especially during boss fights. Does this bother you / would it be a problem?
Go play spacechem !
If its faster, its not a problem unless you cant record due to it.
I dont remember but if its only for the last level, isn't there a rocket launcher to find ?

Anyway glad to see its on progress Smiley
Definitely get the nuke launcher. you could also turn down the settings for that one level.
The speed run is finished. Final time: 32:19!

I found out that those spike walls aren't as water-tight as I thought, and as a result I managed to skip 3/5 boss fights in the last two segments. Wink There are a few other surprises in store as well.

The complete time table is as follows:

level 1 in 1:09
level 2 in 6:20
level 3 in 5:09
level 4 in 2:01
level 5 in 3:24
level 6 in 2:04
level 7 in 1:07
level 8 in 1:24
level 9 in 1:17
level 10 in 2:04
level 11 in 2:12
level 12 in 1:22
level 13 in 0:48
level 14 in 1:07
level 15 in 0:44

I will be submitting shortly and in need of verifiers. Smiley
