Was I supposed to receive a confirmation email after I submitted my volunteer application? My AGDQ profile has a link to volunteer, and the link just takes me to the empty form.
I do not believe you would get a confirmation email, but I checked and you have submitted. We have not made any decisions yet on volunteers so keep an eye out closer to the end of November for more details.
We have an update on volunteer sign ups. Due to reaching the registration cap we are going to close volunteer sign up early on Sunday November 6th, 2016.
If you are currently registered for the event and wish to volunteer, you may do so on your profile at www.gamesdonequick.com.
For all hosts that have applied to AGDQ 2017, you are required to submit a hosting audition with your volunteer sign up or email us at volunteer@gamesdonequick.com with it. If you have not done so already, you should expect an email within the next few days requesting an audition from you. The deadline to send in your audition will be Friday November 11th, 2016. If you do not send us a hosting audition, you will not be selected for hosting.
As we look at volunteers to select, you must be registered for the event in your profile on gamesdonesquick.com. If you are not registered then we cannot select you!
Thank you for everyone that has already signed up for volunteering for the event. We will keep you updated on when the volunteer schedule comes out in the coming weeks.
If you have any specific questions, you may post in this thread or email volunteer@gamesdonequick.com.
Now that the schedule is out, what would be the correct methodology be to inform volunteer selection staff of our availability restrictions (due to couching / commentating, and such commitments)?

According to the GDQ website, it appears that you can email volunteer@gamesdonequick.com regarding this.

This is correct. Please email us your other commitments as soon as you know of them. It will be easier to schedule you around them before hand, as opposed to having the schedule made and needing to make adjustments.
Off-site volunteer applications were bundled with the on-site ones (as always) and therefore were closed together with them, for all I know. Perhaps we can reopen them, thats up to muffins to decide, I guess.
zjplayer, Please email volunteer@gamesdonequick.com about that and we may be able to look into it. No guarantees though.
ShiningFace, when we finish all of the volunteer stuff there should be a new post in this forum with a link to the schedule, as well as a tweet from the GDQ twitter. You likely will not get a direct email about being picked (This may change but seems unlikely based on how we will put out the schedule).
Edit: Just an update but we will be sending out emails to all volunteers. No specific time on when yet, but if you did sign up you will get an email that you were selected or not.
hey! i am flying out from utah for this and i just realized registration is closed :(. i really want to volunteer and help out any way i can, is there any way i can take hideflomein's spot? or is there a way i can get notified if there is a cancellation? i would be willing to pay extra or whatever it takes
I got an email on the 16th saying I was picked as a volunteer and will be receiving a refund. but it did not say anything about what to do next, roles, meetings etc... Maybe I missed a follow up email but that's the only I found after searching AGDQ and also the email.
Any clarification on next steps for people who were selected? need to confirm, meeting dates, roles/responsibilities etc?
