Submitting a controller with a story behind it. In early November, Warner Bros and Rocksteady held a Batman: Arkham Asylum stream on Twitch. To get hype up on stream, there were a bunch of giveaways. Some n00b called EvenSteven02 got his hands on one.
I submitted some lightup desktop stands that I make and they got accepted. Neat.
A pokemon one, a shovel knight, and a Megaman. I just put the games it can be donated to win them as filler and hope you guys can make the choice of the proper games they can be won under in their respective games or blocks.
So I really want to make some prizes for this year, but I'm not sure what would be a good sell. The easiest thing for me would be to make a poster print of... something? and then bring it with me. Kind of like the Ninja Baseball Bat Man poster Kari Fry so sneakily tricked me into making for SGDQ Is there anything in particular people would like to see? Failing that, I could always turn the art assets from the banners into one giant group shot poster, maybe.
If we're going for something AGDQ-centric, I'd go with some of the new games this year, like DKC: Tropical Freeze or Shovel Knight. Personally, I'd love to see something Sonic related.
Submitted all the Dark Souls II prizes I received from Joseph Kartje, Community Manager at Namco Bandai. I got in touch with him via EpicNameBro and both were very helpful and supportive.
New schedule for AGDQ now up on the Games Done Quick website: http://bombch.us/jD7
Make sure to look over the new schedule. Some games have disappeared from the old schedule (i.e. Minecraft) and some new ones are now in (i.e. Vanquish).
Special shoutouts to TJ Townsend for donating himself to such a wonderful cause. Such dedication! I might make him a grab bag prize during the Metroid block :p
Just kidding, man. Here's the real prize he sent, a custom made Contra Print:
So I think this weekend I'll get small versions of the AGDQ banners printed and if possible, get the runners/commentators of the games featured in them to sign them to give away as prizes. Might be a fun thing for the audience to win!
I just found that I will not be able to make it to AGDQ in person. However, I still look forward to seeing more awesome prizes get donated before the marathon starts!
