Ever since my time upload cap has been removed I've started to upload test attempts of a Single Segment speed run I like to work on.

I produced an LQ MP4 of the run that is meant to be 45 minutes long and after the process is completed, it ends up being nearly twice as long

I would post the YT video now but I would rather have it set to Unlisted (so that I don't recieve a flood of Noobtube comments), but it won't let me yet.

Does anyone know why this happens, it's starting to bug me as it took 6 hours to encode a 45 minute video on Anri-chan only to find out that Youtube buggers up the processing progress.

i don't know what causes it but the exact same thing happens to me when i try to upload the iqs or hqs of my wario land 5 runs. lqs and mqs work fine though. maybe try a different quality?

seems like maybe anri and youtube don't play nice all the time.

i agree that seems to be the case in my experience. The only good solution ive come up with is re-encode the video to maybe mkv and reupload it. Actually try encoding to xvid with anri-chan?

offtopic: wonder what the maximum youtube limit is? Apparently its unlimited duration but up to 20gb. Of course you need to receive a message saying you have the new limit of course.....

Do you have a stat ID on it? If so, try removing it. That's how I fixed the problem for me. This is assuming you encoded it with anri. I had a problem where only the mq would process correctly if i had a stat ID attached.

I saw an attempt to upload a 27h movie, that failed for the video being too long. So the limit happens before 27 hours.
I attempted 15h and it failed with a video convert error.

that was a fair question ... doesn't really seem reasonable to expect something like that to have been discussed here before.

the same thing happened to me with my MKW single segment vid and an F-Zero GX video i encoded long ago without a stat ID.

it must be something associated with anri encodes. i've uploaded stuff not processed with anri and everything has worked good. only stuff encoded with anri gets messed up.

luckily i kept the RAW of my SS run for this but the aspect ratio is wrong. uploading RAW files works good if someone wants to avoid encoding videos but still upload to youtube.

mkv is a container, not a video format. Thus, it is impossible to "convert" a video to mkv. Screw all those programs that tries to say otherwise.
You can remux to mkv, though. Dunno if that fixes the problem.

This is a fixed version of my 'work in progress' Speed Run.

I used Virtual Dub with a useful codec, etc.
Oh and the STAT ID is custom made.

I noticed when I uploaded the marathon promo, that it drastically increased the length of the video.  I tried the IQ and HQ qualities, and they both had the same problem.  Then I thought of something.  Both of these videos are natively 60fps, and the length increase was almost double.  So it'd be like the video was running at 30fps.  Sure enough, I took the MQ video, which is a native 30fps, and uploaded it without a problem.

I think it might be that Youtube caps the framerate around that level.
someone made an assumption that no one would upload anything > f2. that person should not only be fired, they should be banned from working with video ever again.

Testing...

Source video is 720p, 60 fps, 20 second duration:
LQ
MQ
HQ
IQ
XQ

Above with statid, extra 10 seconds, total 30 seconds:
LQ
MQ
HQ * 44 seconds!
IQ * 44 seconds!
XQ * 44 seconds!

Source video is 720p, 30 fps, 20 second duration, with statid, total 30 seconds:
LQ
MQ
HQ * 48 seconds!
IQ * 48 seconds!
XQ * 48 seconds!

Now to figure out why this is happening...
Waiting hurts my soul...
Obvious, but there's audio de-syncing with the unexpected lengths.

Source video is 720p, 30 fps, 20 second duration, with statid, total 30 seconds, LQ/HQ/IQ/XQ using same x264 settings as MQ:
LQ
MQ
HQ
IQ
XQ

Above, 60 fps.
LQ

All fine...

I think it's something in the x264 settings. MQ uses simpler settings than the rest for better compatibility.

Seems it's b-adapt and/or weightp causing problems with youtube.

This one worked with --b-adapt 0

Some others experiencing the problem: http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/329636-H264-and-mkvtoolnix-for-Youtube-woes?s=2b1f8835db52d4dadb31c6c722608e3d&p=2042063&viewfull=1#post2042063

More weightp: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/youtube/thread?tid=1b759dc2c3265a2b&hl=en

Still not convinced though, since my weightp test didn't work:

About weightp, I read more closely and apparently it causes a different problem where you get a bunch of gray frames. Still a problem, but I'm inclined to let Youtube fix it on their end, especially since weightp's default value is 2 in x264 so others are going to experience this.

More testing to do..
I think it's more related to the container.  Remux it in MKV, and you be fine.  I have had no problems with b-adapt or weightp in YT.
I don't think it is container related. I did an experiment ago with the HQ marathon promo video which suffered from the syndrome. I muxed it into mkv, but alas, YT still screwed it up.

Was YT still screwing up the same way?  I know from experience that for MKV, the screw ups are gray screen, and for MP4, the video length is screwed up.  To fix the MP4 issue, I remux to MKV.  To fix the MKV issue, I use a different version of mkvmerge (go figure).
It doubled the length IIRC.

Hmm, I don't know then, since I usually send lossless with minimal changes for x264 to YT, the default b-adapt 1 and weightp 2 is used.  Thought since lossless has no b-frames, I guess b-adapt has no effect.  This seems to always work fine for me.  For example:
