Quote from tekkie:
el, did you ever record your sewer oob setup?

edit: http://www.twitch.tv/tekkie55/c/2919419

highlight of my earlier run; the only vid i've seen that has the entire run so far, though badly executed x)

This is a pretty bad run, but I did end up doing the sewer clip my way. I tried experimenting with the chair, but I just found it easier without. No crouch jump involved, just sprint and boost jump. http://www.twitch.tv/elendilandurilz/b/460382231

So I did manage to find an OoB route instead of the flying pig.
Its probably faster but at the moment I just wanted to show the concept as the initial setup with the chairs is basically random at the moment (I tried finding a decent setup but I couldn't)
Also I'm new to Amnesia glitches so I don't know if the boost jump is really difficult or I'm bad

I don't know when you found this oob but .. I found that a few hours after release just with a different setup. I scratched it for pig flying though but now I'm not sure if it's not faster because the pig slows down your movespeed.

http://www.twitch.tv/shadowdraft/c/2919821 - yes the highlight was made today but the recording is 2 days old. Sorry I didn't post this. I blame Apjjm Tongue

Oh I found it today, sorry about that.
Yea I think it is faster but, at least for me, its REALLY hard and the pig trick is pretty easy. Also need a more consistent method out

You should try my setup. The chairs are right next to the board and I made a short timing run with it and got 1:40 for the level. By the way I actually suck at pig flying that's why I'd love thist strat to be reliable too.
Is tekkies post on page two still updated with the current route?

Right now it's a decent route to start. It includes almost every trick but there's still room to find new ones. So the route is still subject to change I think.
Yeah, I just wanted to make sure that if I start doing my runs off that route that it's current. Smiley Thanks.

New run, 40:22.7 real time. I probably use some stuff that isn't mentioned in this run. Let me know if you guys have any questions about what I do.
Just finished my first run, so that's like the 2nd time I actually use the speedrun routes.
I did 1:02:56, which is pretty horrible. Here are my splits:

I gotta practice the chair positioning in the Factory and my Sewer route. I really sucked at it.

If you guys wanna race on SRL, I think this could be cool. I never raced before and I'd like to try it out! I kinda wanna get accepted on the SRL site, I don't have any viewers when I stream, which is sad.
So, im still looking into it, but when I was pig flying out of map 4 I went to jump and without slowly jumping upwards, I flew up instantly. The pig and I both ascended extremely high up. I've tried to recreate it and no luck so far. It definitely saved a fuckton of time. I just threw the pig down by the fence and on the first jump I just got launched fast.

I'll keep you guys informed if I figure it out

I've noticed some very odd physics with the pigs as well. I've sent a few flying through walls, floors, and had them damage me as well from high speed impact. I think it's probably very angle specific, and is most likely going to be unreliable. For a segmented run, I could see something with the pig acceleration being valid.
Actually, messing around with for a little while now is yielding some pretty interesting results. I think the way I lean it off the fence is a huge factor and I might be able to find a set up for it. I've gotten a few launches that almost worked. I'm isolating variables to see what makes the pig react differently. So far I think it has something to do with which direction the pigs collision box is facing. I've been getting better results when I face the stomach away from me. Again, i'll keep you informed if I stumble over anything useful or new.
Yeah, Jesus pig has tried taking me to heaven quite a few times in my runs. The best I have found to do with it is do the hover near the fence. Even if he rockets you up, you can still make it over.

First mission in 1 minute, would be able to do it in 30 sec if not failing in the start.

Been looking at this off stream and found OoB as well, looking at this thread just makes me want to start practicing :O

To be honest with you I don't see how this is any faster than the clip strat. First off you cut out the regain part which is about ~10 seconds where the game slowly gives you back full runspeed, crouch and jump. Secondly a nearly perfect execution of the clip strat takes almost exactly 44 seconds to complete the hole level. Your strat may be safer but probably not faster.

Yeah and you can't get the lantern with this clip, which is pretty sad. Sad
Are we grabbing the latern as part of the route?
Get over here!
Actually in the all out speedrun you will not have the latern. Just putting that out there. Testing that strat also made me time the regain full controll over character part. If you start the timer on the logo which is the most convenient it takes ~30 seconds to get full runspeed, jump and crouch.
Speaking of the logo, shouldn't we start our timer there and not at the quote? It just seems easier and because my computer has such shit load times i end up losing a little just getting up the logo

Right now me and tekkie are using the logo as the start.
Well with Sychotixx on his Twitch, we're talking about getting a Savefile that everyone could use to start the run, right after the logo when you can start moving the mouse.
So, I think I just found potentially a faster way out of map 1. I'll time it right now and post a video if it is.
I just created a save file that I think we should all use. It loads the game right after the logo, when you can start moving.
http://puu.sh/4qqer.sav
I think we should all agree on where to start the game, and I think this save file could be an option.
~
that works for me. i was starting the timer from the Amnesia logo already anyways.

btw apjjm/shadow/TDD speedrunners; were loading times calculated from when the screen popped up to the frame the little dialog thing disappears?

What?
I Agree that timing from the logo is the best point to start timing from, you do not have control of the character before this point, and this is a solid reference point to start timing from considering you gain control very shortly after. Regarding how timing worked in TDD: Timing during fade-in/fade-outs on level transitions counts as it is 100% possible to take damage during those moments [Thanks TDD sewer ladder!](however, time during the loading screen is not counted as well as time performing save-and-exit & loading in segmented runs). Additionally inventory / journal time counts [not that this would be an issue in AMFP]. In TDD the timing is stopped at the credits but in AMFP you lose control after the button press so it would be appropriate for timing to stop there.

Edit:
Also i would suggest doing runs from the start rather than a save at the start - the intro is shorter than the original amnesia and you shouldn't really need to reset in the first few levels. Also, it would be nice to see a run on SDA.
