Adventure Speedruns
Hi again,

Nicko! is really excited at the moment by doing awesome speedruns. This day he has done a run of an real old classic game called Zork.

He runned through in 29 minutes and 14 seconds.

Its really nice to watch, it has good video and sound quality. This time we used the hightes rate which was available. 56KBit/s for the sound. ;-)

Enjoy the run, you can download it or watch the stream on my website.

www.adventure-speedruns.com

Have fun watching the stuff.

Sweet! Another of those great adventures! Keep them coming Wink

EDIT: Oh BTW, there's a typo on the page for this speedrun on your site. It's written "sinlge" instead of "single". Also, I think you meant to say " The speedrun was made on the 11th of June 2007." instead of " The speedrun was made on the 11th of June 2006." Wink

EDIT: As a matter of fact, it says 2006 on most pages Smiley Maybe some are correct, maybe not.

EDIT: Now that I'm thinking about it. What about a speedrun of Clayman? That would be awesome Smiley

Hey thanx, I think I made it too fast. ;-)

Now I checked all dates and typing mistakes. I think they will be right now.
give me your eyes!!!
I remember Zork Nemesis fairly well (the imagery not any details), never heard of this. A quick gamefaqs search shows 9 Zork games in all, with good reviews too, well whaddya know... I look forward to watching,
there's something simple and encapsulating about adventure speedruns, I can't get enough.

Never give up!
Some of the puzzles and quotes from this game are pretty amazing when you think of it.

For instance, who knew that a common 'urban legend' would actually be put to use?  And how many adventure games actually use a SCRATCHCARD puzzle?  (There's a bunch of other great puzzles but these are my favorite two in the game.)

As far as quotes I'd say Dalboz (magic lantern/Dungeon Master) has the most funny ones.

Though is it just me or is the sound for the video consistently quite a bit off?  (Update: I did a personal remux of the video using VirtualDubMod, and the original video's sound, to the best of my knowledge so far, started precisely half a second AHEAD of the video stream.  Unfortunately, the desync gets slightly worse later, right around the part after Charon's gotten his fee.)

Note: I do see one possible route improvement.  After Flood Control Dam #3, instead of going to Hades to teleport to the Spell Lab, couldn't he have gone to the Monastery instead?  It's a bit faster to get to that one's teleporter than Hades', plus he doesn't need to use the subway to get to it later.

Thanx for the improvements, I hope Nicko! reads it, otherwise I'll send him a short email.

For me, the sound works great, it's the best sound of all videos on the website(my opinion).
Never give up!

That, I have to admit, is true.  This is the one where the sound's been closest.
