Hey people,

Long time looker, first time poster... Tongue

Anyways, I was at Spikedhumor.com and saw this REALLY interesting vid of Zelda, that bypasses the whole game...even Ganon.

I was wondering, not that I would do this, would it be ok on SDA?

The trick that was used, I've never seen...and when I watched it, I was totally baffled.  Anyone able to shed light on this one?

Thanks,

Oh...and Happy New Years to you all!
Speed is the key.
If anything is going under the title "Leaving the games boundaries", it is this.  Roll Eyes

Btw, isn´t there a video of this on bisqwit´s or something?

I know I´ve seen it somewhere else.
Post a link to make it easier to see what you're talking about first.
Speed is the key.
Here´s a link for those who want it:

...the hell?
Eternal Understudy
THe movie's not "real". It was played with an emulator with savestates, slomo and rewind functions. For more info, go to bisqwit.iki.fi/nesvideos

Also, the glitch (even if a human could pull it off) would be illegal according to SDA rules.

Not only that.
What looks like backwalking in the video due to crappy framerate is in reality pressing up+down at the same time, which would require you to do nasty things to your joypad.

This up+down is also the trick that gets Link through the stairs.

But now that you know about Bisqwit's, please don't post in either forum about your opinion which approach to speed gaming is inferior. It has led to flame wars in the past.
HPW DARE YOU SAY SUCH A TH...

oh, never mind...

In their attempt to cut down on the file size, the people that hosted that movie edited out the huge intrusive message in the beggining explaining that this was not done on console and whatnot.

Do they not know why we put these things there?  Gah...
At least they gave omnipotent the credit.  That miles ahead of G4 and that ebay buyer.

They should have mentioned that it was an emulated video, but they didn't make that big of a mistake.  They just caused some confusion...  But they shouldn't have cut out the message in the beginning...
this video is in bisqwkit

Sorry about not posting the link for the video, I actually forgot all about it.

*Note to self...post all relevant information before making post!

Tongue

Thanks for the feedback though, cause I was totally baffled at what I was looking at when I saw that video.
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
I hate to bump this thread, but I have to say... that link and its responses was honestly the dumbest thing I have seen on the Internet in years.

And no, it could not have possibly been a simple "mistake" to cut out the TAS disclaimer.
Reminds me of the "Links Awakening" glitch run which is also on Bisqwits i believe. Totally baffled me!
