Quit your belly aching Solder!
Using the Four Sword Palace glitch, you can get into pretty much any level, including ganon's tower. The best part is it does not screw up your game, so I would have to assume you might be able to use it on an SDA run correct?

The only thing is that you need to gather the certain weapons needed for the tower like the flame rod, and the cane of somaria. And I believe you have to have the hammer, and the hookshot before you can get to Lv. 4 for the glitch (though you might ber able to do it in level 2 [since you can get to any level using the glitch], but w/o the master sword, I do not know if you can deflect the shots fired by the wizard king dude).

This could dramatically decrease the time, with only I believe 7 hearts and the neseceties for the tower. Just go into the levels, grab the main items (besides the armor), and warp out. There also might be a way to get to the triforce room, using the glitch, but I haven't found it. I forgot to mention that it would have to be a single segment from the start of the glitch to the end of the game, because you save directly back to the entrance of the 4th Dark World dungeon.

Here is a bad-qualitied version of getting to Ganon's Tower Early directly after getting the Hookshot:

GREATEST THING IN THE WORLD ABOUT THIS GLITCH!!!:
If you get the Big Key from the 4th Dark World dungeon, you can use it for all your Big Key needs in Ganon's Tower (like opening the big chest for the red armor). This is true since it still thinks you are in the 4th level, and allows you to use the key on all big doors, chests, etc. if you can manage to enter the dungeon floor.

Mirror glitching on the GBA is the only way to go out of bounds without having to save the game or using up + down.

Going out of bounds means you can skip everything, even going into the triforce room.

You can do the mirror glitch in Eastern Palace so you don't even need to go and get Moon Pearl -> Master Sword -> up to Hookshot.

So I guess you can the glitch to get into pretty much anywhere with higher and lower elevation.

But is this used in a speedrun?
DS Dictator
Not for an default quest run (Triforce room) as there are faster ways to go out of bounds.

But for a Palace of Four Swords run, yes, and it will be interesting because you can't skip the final battle to trigger the extra ending.
It's a BIG HEAD!
I've actually done the Four Sword Palace with 3 swords. Wasn't all that easy.

But in the GBA version, I don't think you need Hookshot at all. You can bomb yourself over the cliff in Moldorms room = No need to kill it.

But they can skip this on TAS right? I swear I saw like a 2 (or something like that) minute one where they went straight to the triforce room.

That's for the normal ending, the extra ending (done glitched) requires you to defeat 4 Evil Links in the Palace of Four Swords. That place usually requires the Actual Four Swords Multiplayer game (and the default ALTTP) to be cleared first. But with the mirror glitch it's possible to get into the Palace without completing either of the games.

I don't think you need mirror glitch to get to there. What I did with my friend was to up+down/right-left to Tower of Hera (This was before the STEG and such were found), exit the Tower and go in normally, go to the lowest floor, RL from the roon after the room with the flying tiles. It will just take you straight to the Four Sword Palace. After some tinkering there, I amaged to make the barrier disappear and got to the Links.

But you can't do an UP+Down/Left + Right on a Gameboy player, even when you use 2 controllers.

But you can connect the GBA to the GC can't you? Get the cord connecting the GB and the GC. You can use the GB controls pad.

Yes I use that with my GBA SP to play the games via Gameboy Player.

I can totally confirm that with GBA (SP atleast) up-down and right-left are more than doable.

Using OoB glitches in alttp, you can do any of the versions in less than 5 mins. So it would be unnessecary to travel to the 4th dungeon.

I personally did 2 OoB runs in alttp. One of them included a OoB glitch in skull woods, and my final time was 18:54.
My other run used the S&Q in Hyrule castle after rescuing princess Zelda. Final time: 3:37 (TAS: 3:44)
