Hail Discordia!
(Cross-post from TASVideos)

I was browsing some Japanese blog of a player I know, and there were a couple links to interesting programs that I had not heard of before.

First, Flash-based tests meant to measure your average reaction time to visual stimulus:
http://70.84.61.34/~fundotn/Games-D5-140406/reaction.swf (can be used offline);
http://www.humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime/index.php (online with leaderboards).

I have an average of 175 ms on those two tests.

The second is a Windows-only ABX (blind test) program that measures your sensitivity to input lag. When you start, you need to choose the test variable. "1 or 8" means one subject will have 1-frame latency and the other 8-frame. You can switch between them using spacebar. When you determine the lagged subject, press enter to write down your choice. Repeat until 20 results.

So far I've managed to pass 1 or 3 test with 100% confidence, but in 1 or 2 I can only guess.

Disclaimer: I'm using a CRT monitor, USB mouse and PS/2 keyboard.
Thread title:
I <3 my Xbrick
Averaged 179 ms on the first and 165.2 ms on the second. Second one just seems easier to react to, or maybe I got warmed up by the first Tongue
Fucking Weeaboo
Damn, I'm slow as hell.  232.6
Using middle finger poised above the mouse to click, got
219ms on the first
184ms on the second

Using index finger to click, holding the mouse normally,
217ms on the first
200ms on the second

These felt like slow reactions to me. Back when I played CSS I'm sure I was far quicker than this.

Can't really tell if click method made a significant difference.

I did think I noticed (though it may be an illusion) that the sooner the colour change happened, the faster my reaction was. Concentrating for even a short amount of time seems to tire me and reduce my reaction speed. I've felt this in FPS games to, when e.g. waiting for an opponent to come round a corner to shoot them.
Waiting hurts my soul...
I guess I'm pretty slow at this, seems like my average hovers around 240ms

The second one has an error flashing saying it can't maintain 60 fps. I guess my computer sucks that much.
Hail Discordia!
It might have something to do with your video driver's default refresh rate for the resolution the program runs in, or something to that extent.

sure... although I'm not sure how to check that or set it, so guess I'm out of luck for that.
boss
Got 171ms average on the first test and, for some reason, 193ms on the second one.

Got 100% on 1/2 frame delay on the last thingie. Tried each test only once.
we have lift off
172ms on the first, 158ms on the 2nd.
Hi! I'm andrewg!
Hmm, my average on the 1st was around 193

On the second 180 or so.

My best actually reaction time appeared to be 143 on the 2nd test. I was really concentrating (I think i noticed some "movement" of sorts when I got that one).
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
i go on the high 200, 250 to 300 Cheesy
I got 286 on the first one, and 273.4 on the second.  I think it's because when the colors change, I always get startled first instead of clicking. :\
Silver Hawk!
Averaging around .215 on each.
I want off the ride....
Hmm something is wrong either there is lag on my monitor or something else...
I used to mess around in museums with the reaction test and avg 240... on this i avg 260ms... which could be a few frames..
but whatever I know i'm not close to the median..... but i can be if I get into the "slowmotion" zone.
SEGA Junkie
Wow, 216 and 209. I'm sure I'm faster than that :/
berserker status
After a couple tries my averages were:

Test #1    188 ms
Test #2    194.6 ms

My reaction times just get worse as I keep trying so I'm not gonna bother anymore.  I thought my reaction times were a lot better than that, but then again, I'm better at anticipating predetermined timing inputs rather than randomized (?) reaction inputs.

Edit:  I'm looking at the high scores right now and I see Ridd3r is leading the pack.  This doesn't surprise me since I'm guessing that this test favors players with FPS skills on PC's.  Still, I thought I would've done a little bit better.  Sad
[+--oo] In control since '86
184ms

Not awesome.  Maybe it explains why I don't yet have a speedrun up yet.  Roll Eyes
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I tested again and figured out that for me it has to do with hand position, i was again on the 270ies and then put the finger vertical on top of mouse1 and went down to 170ies...
1.99 was my best score so far.
Eh, .231 and .226.

My usual excuse for why I'm not very good at a lot of video games is "because my reaction speed is slow," but I guess I'm not all that slow Smiley
http://twitch.tv/Exisidis2
188.2 average on the 2nd test.

and my best single time so far.... 4ms Tongue Tongue
I kinda anticipated when it would show up, and all I remember is I saw a small Blink of green then it said 4ms xD

Got 43ms now too.
新世紀進歩的羽扇子 音楽
I got about 260.  I guess this is what the "green number" means in IIDX, because I use 259 in those games.

Maybe not though, I'm also really tired right now and I don't feel like my reaction is that bad (but maybe it is since I realize in other games I play more on anticipation).
Joke of all trades
i can't get below 350  :(,  apperently im just really slow
In the infinite
My fastest time on the second one was 28ms, all the rest of my tries were in the 200's lol.
Highly Evolved
Weird, my total average for the first one there was 0.223.  What's weird is that I had three right around there, one at 0.381, and the last one at 0.029.  I think I just anticipated and clicked and it happened to be right.

Second try was a much closer bunched 0.211.

Second link:

183.6, so faster.  Not sure why, and, by checking the leaderboard, was faster than Tiki.  Cheesy
