I just beat this game and I was surprised at how short it was compared to most rpgs. A casual playthrough with no cutscenes or sidequests would probably take 15 hours. This leads me to believe that the game can be beaten in 4-5 hours in a speedrun. Though, I could be wrong because some bossfights take a long time to finish.

I think that getting Medica 2 as early as possible will be crucial as well as the timing of breaks in battles.Orgulla will be tough since she changes her weaknessess during the battle. Running from battles will also prove time-consuming since it is almost impossible to avoid an enemy and fleeing from battle will cost around 30 seconds.

Is anyone interested? I might do the run, but then again it isn't the first time I've said that and i've yet to actually finish any run that i've started. I'd be happy to hear any suggestions that would help improve the run.

THE GAME!!
Plus, all the cutscenes are skippable. There might be a bit of training, but that wouldn't be too bad would it?

I would.  Just have fun with the awful load times on battle sequences.  While putting the game on the PS2 HD fixes that, that is NOT allowed per SDA rules.
I don't even know how to put games on the ps2 HD.lol.

I just beat Level 4 on my practice speedrun. I have not learned a single skill as of yet. Albedo might change that. I'm pretty sure i'll need Medica 2 for Orgulla. My current time after Level 4 is 1:07. I'm pretty sure below 1:00 is possible because i'm only playing with the standard speed on the PS2, because i'm too lazy to switch to the high speed option. It looks good so far. Disc 1 will be done in under two hours...maybe even 1:30 eventually! I'm just using basic stock-break-down tactics, nothing special. If anyone has suggestions on how to shorten boss fights I'd happy to hear from them.
I just beat Albedo. It took 8:37 to beat him. I had to wing some of it because the battle is so hard. I needed to learn Medica 2 specifically for the battle. It's a good thing I had enough skillpoints saved up from the previous boss battles. I used Jr, MOMO, and Ziggy for the battle. For Level 4 I used Jr, MOMO, and KOS-MOS.
My current time at the end of disc 1 is 1:30:51. This can probably be reduced to 1:25 and possibly 1:20. Albedo was probably the first real challenge I had doing the run. Orgulla will be the next one.

Shion is currently LV.19 at the start of the second disc. The Dammerung should pose no serious challenge.
Triple Post!!!

2:10 at Ormus Stronghold after beating Scutum and Pilum. The enemies are tough and the run is starting to slow down because of my low levels. I hope I can actually beat Orgulla and get out of Ormus by 3 hours.

I'm assuming that the run ends after Jr. beats Albedo in the space-time anomaly.

Would using the Save Game data from the first game be allowed?  All you need to do is get to level 99 in the first game and you get a BUNCH of Skill Points.  I'm sure that would give you quite a bit of help.  Im concerned about the boss battles at the end of the game though, the Cathedral is gonna take a lot of careful manipulation.
100% runs=great to watch
That would be another category....prolly not allowed until at least a "normal" run is done and up.
I don't think those extra skill points would help that much except for maybe later in the game; the swimsuits might help a bit too.

For those who want to do a run as well: The run is easy until you get to Albedo. I managed to get as far as the fight with Albedo without ever healing. Albedo will require Medica 2. Timing two rounds of "stock-break-down-attack" is hard. Luck is important; hope that he uses blast attacks instead of Carrion of Souls I. Try to kill him without getting hit by Soul Aura if you can. It is possible to survive it, but if you get hit, wing the battle and take him out quickly.
The next difficulty lies in a few inescapable battles at Ormus. The enemies were hard to kill because my level was only 20. I haven't found a way to avoid the battles as of yet.

Kouli and Split Infinity's guide (and videos) will be a great help.

Thanks! Some of the tactics used were more efficient than mine. That's good news. The run can be improved even more. The fight with Margulis went much faster than mine. Hopefully the strategies in the later boss fights can be used on lower levels as well.

In regards to when the run will end. If you mean when you save the game at the end of the credits than I think that would be a good ending point.  Though the credits and the scene after is unskippable, I cant remember how much time it takes to play.  10 mins maybe?

I used the same guide that Lord_VG posted when I played the game and yes, those tactics will work at lower levels, it will just take much longer, due to healing and whatnot.

EDIT:  If this run ever gets done and submitted, I'll be happy to verify the run.
My boyfriend just suggested this run as a joke. Shocked to see it isn't a real thing. I might consider planning one.
