hello, world!
The shipping is outrageous from jp. Anybody in the states have one that they're willing to sell? Also, anything special I should know to use it on NTSC tv?

Thanks

original Famicom consoles (non-AV or Twin models) are kind of hit/miss with the RF adapter, which depends on your TV. You might get no image, no sound, low quality image, etc. It's more likely that it'll work fine on your TV, in my experience, but you can never be sure. The Japanese frequencies are different than what your TV uses. The controllers also have very short cables. You need a power adapter with DC output for any fc/sfc system (different from the US adapters! third party adapters are mostly DC) as AC will fry your system.

I'd strongly recommend an AV Famicom ("New Famicom") over the old model, but good luck finding one for cheap. They usually sell for at least double what the model 1s go for. However, they use the Nintendo video cable, have the best video quality of any NES/FC system, have controller ports, and look great.

I have one old system right now that I'm pretty sure has a buyer, but I might have another really soon for sale if we're in the same price range. How much are you looking to spend?
hello, world!
Hey thanks for the information. To avoid issues I might just skip the famicom idea and try to find just an FDS and use it on an open NES. I didn't realize I could potentially run into all of that.

I'm willing to spend good money, just did not want to deal with absurd shipments from other countries that takes 6-8 weeks.
Have you tried Famicom World?
hello, world!
Thanks man, I'll post in their forums
