My VCR killed itself during the marathon, so I am looking for an alternate recording device.  Granted I already have a capture card, so I can still record SNES stuff, but if I intend to stream attempts I need a VCR or DVD recorder.  Preferably the latter.

Not determined to buy one off another member here, but recommendations for models would be nice.  If there exists a DVD recorder with RF input, that would be more ideal.  Also, I don't have the $150-200 spare to buy a top of the line one.

Thanks!

Remember the one Mike and Trihex had at the marathon?  Yeah, get that one.  It's a bit pricey, but worth every last penny.  Also, it does have RF input.

(I know you said you don't have $150-200, but this IS the recommended one.  Save up...it's worth it, trust me.)
Willing to teach you the impossible
I vote for a second capture card, being they are the least expensive. $10 ish for an ez cap. This allows you to broadcast and record. That is how I roll at least. That is my input.

Waiting hurts my soul...
That DVD recorder looks like mine, but sleeker. I agree, save up for one of those.

In fact, this is my model: http://cgi.ebay.com/PHILIPS-DVDR3575H-160GB-DVD-RECORDER-HDMI-OUTPUT-/330520701280?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf491a960

The problem is my computer.  It's not good enough to capture and do anything else.  If it's capturing, everything else must be turned off or else it'll end up desynching or dropping a ton of frames or something.  I'd need another capture card and another computer, which is significantly more expensive than a DVD recorder.  Tongue

That is a rather expensive recorder, but it looks good.  I'd rather not spend that much, though.  :/
