Wolfenstein: The New Order

I've recently pick up this game to speedrun because it really seems like it has potential to be fast paced and broken to all hell. I currently run the game on the easiest difficulty (Can I play, daddy?) due to the fact that enemies and the environment do a lot less damage compared to any others, allowing you to run through fights and skip past a lot of stand offs.

My current best is a 2:13:54 (http://www.twitch.tv/bl00d_thunder/c/4320581) but even without skips, sub 2 hours should be pretty easy to achieve with a more polished run.

Myself and Judgy are currently exploring some things that could potentially lead to skips (clipping through floors/vents or climbing ladders to impossible heights :p), so far no luck but I'll post anything we can manage to find.

Mismatch Weapons Glitch:

To do this swap from one set of dual wield weapons to another set of dual wield weapons while using a ladder, upon returning to your normal standing position you will be holding one of each weapon. (reloading etc works fine)

Blood asked for this, A possible OoB on the Bridge turned out to be a failure due to non solid objects above Sad

however if i can find a way to stay on top of the train car i might be able to explore some more

PlayerW3. If you just use a full charged laser gun, you can kill the panzerhund with no trouble (no need to use that trick).

This jump @ 1:15 was found by both myself and Bl00d_Thunder within about 5 minutes of each other lol

Improved version: You need to aim to the left of the second (lower) section of concrete the invisible wall will push to towards the right and cause you to land at the very bottom.

We have a new clip! :D. Using the boat we can clip through both gates and the fans. (if you just back into the gate/fan and get out, you clip through it)

Hey Grn yeah , shame I didn't bother doing anything with Sniper: GW2 but oh well nice to know you'll be on board for this at some point Smiley

we hit the game pretty hard yesterday and probably will do the same again soon.

I know that shit sucks big time ... maybe a petition or something might get the current censorship over-turned but no Idea how one would go about that Facebook is normally a good place for that kinda stuff.

Anyway As far as testing the game is concerned (or any game for that matter) I would strongly suggest testing WITH someone It seemed that methods and ideas got developed so quickly when myself and Blood were playing / on skype / on steam together the ability to bounce ideas off each other like "hey, what about trying this...." or "I found something interesting here" "have you ever tried doing blah blah!?" so definately try get someone else with you for some testing Tongue

In other news turns out the helicopter skip / early boss glitch Is NOT Wyatt only ... bad news is its very sensitive to do ... If you hit anything on your first jump down (helicopter skip) it will not work you need to pass thru the entire fall without touching anything on the way down. should you hit something it will still skip the helicopter fight however you would need to run around the final section.

Yes, having Judgy on skype was really really beneficial in us finding all the things that we did yesterday. Just finding that jump in Return to london initially skipping a bit of walking turned into a very useful OoB (#TeamWyatt). My idea to skip part of the train mission turned into the BloodButton skip. We were also able to debunk a lot of 'possible skips. Even just having judgy tell me about some stupid tricks of his 'walk under water' or 'ride the mine' really can change how you view different aspects/mechanics of the game.

Good to know that Fergus can do the OoB as well, incase he ever actually becomes useful (doubt it :p). I will probably do a run/walkthrough of the game after work and take notes on different aspects to not only look for glitches/tricks but to generally optimize the route. Things like where are the best spots to pick up weapons/ammo, what weapon to use in an area/on a boss.

Great job so far guys. This is actually the first game I'm going to try to speed run. Any tips for finding glitches, or any common tricks to try out? I've been trying to figure out if there is any way to skip The Knife scene in the camp. I was hoping to find some way to clip through the door where he grabs you, but so far no luck.

As far as looking for tricks, it's kinda hard to say since the game has only been out for a week and we're still learning the game mechanics but a few tips:

- Clipping through doors/walls/floors doesn't really seem likely unless there is something we can move around or we can reach something through a broken texture (bl00dButton works due to a gap in between 2 textures)
- Try to hit checkpoints early (this typically unloads any enemy before it, helicopter fight skip for example)
- Try anything and everything. As the game is still new, there is a high possibility that even simple things have been overlooked. If it seems stupid, it probably is but who knows, it might work).

found this yesterday, I was farting about near a door and wanted to see how far a slide would carry you when it closed on me and sent me thru the floor.

Other interesting facts:

In the video if you pause @ 0:46 you will notice that the next area actually doesn't exist until after the cutscene ... this could also be true for area such as the prison camp where you have various cutscenes which could possibly load the next section / unload previous [now unreachable] areas (Guard behind the door / getting stabbed, Talking to Set Roth etc etc)

As can be seen in the video around 1:27 I can clip into the texture using a slide but I cannot by simply running against it ... could make sliding a way to get OoB or get past something that normally obstructs you that you previously only tried to run against.

I found something similar, but not as useful. If you enter a turret while vaulting it you end up inside of it.
