I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
can you make a list of allowed quake executables?
this doesn't mean i could have been using illegal versions, i've been using winquake 1.09 to record for all time, and glquake/joequake only for watching demos. i just want to make it clear.

The official ID glquake is legal.
Joequake is not legal.
winkquake and quake (dos quake) are legal.
Hey Ho Let's Go
JoeQuake IS legal!  Smiley
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
but i have no idea how to tell whether a glquake executable is released by id... are you going to add some info on the page listing all legal exectuable files?
and, why is joequake legal? Huh?
18 to the diablo2 holy grail
simple joe made it, he knows what he is doing, and he had some supervision etc from the sda team to make sure its SDA friendly.  Therefore legal Tongue

It's easy to find out really. Either you just use the .exe's that comes with Quake, or you go to www.planetquake.com and download the .exe's they have there.

There's an "unoffcial" GL .exe by id though, but as far as I know, the only thing that is changed is that you can change your FOV.

what the fuck? there is only one glquake v0.97 on planetquake, and i have a v0.98 from somewhere(i forgot), does that mean mine is illegal? and only v0.97 can be used?

Version 0.98 is also legal.
And yeah, I think fov was initially locked on 0.97 (seem to remember there was a way around it though), and when 0.98 came along, you could change it ingame.

Basically you got 3 choices in gl mode:
GLQuake 0.97
GLQuake 0.98
JoeQuake

Software is dosquake, winquake (I assume anything prior to the latest patches, 1.09 I think, are illegal?) and JoeQuake again. I don't know if physics have been altered from version 1.00, but I assume there are some changes. Anyone wanna verify which software (patch) versions are legal?

Kay: Dos/WinQuake 1.09 is required.

OpenGL: GLQuake 0.98 is legal as Kay said, so there's nothing to worry about.
don't forget glmacquake (i hope.....)

or else all my demos from the start of this year have to be scrapped! Shocked
