Is there any significance to the number 348... such as how many licks it took you to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?

ROFL, awesome. But yeah, just a random number. I was on AOL and all. It was originally 3481, but when I switched to Road Runner (cable internet here) they had an 8 character limit, so off went the 1. I hadn't yet been active online in ways other people would see.

It's a strange result of internet culture, but I've begun to favor the numbers that have no meaning at all.  People with 69, 666, 187 in their names, etc... ugh.

The first letter of my first name, and the first 7 letters of my last (it's longer than 7 letters, try guessing the others). I don't know, I just did it the way they made you in high school and such, seeing as how screen names never really meant much to me.

Other than my love for arbitrary imagery, I came up with the moniker in a namebattle, over ICQ, with my first love....

.... (takes the obligatory, reminiscent moment; gentle sigh)...

... to try and make the other person laugh, "for no reason."  Since the name was so pointless, she laughed, and I won, and we later became a long-distance [only about 90 minutes away] couple.
I use the name, here, as my little demonstration that I am still in love with her, and have been these past four years.

If only she weren't married to some other guy, now; it impedes the relationship progress.
Drasko is a real name, from somewhere in eastern Europe I think. I just like how it sounds. But I am not even sure I pronounce it right  Grin
Mine originated from a few years back, when I started calling everything a 'henkie'. With widespread use ranging from "You henkie" to "This henkie fell off the chair", it was a winner. I've still got a Matlab file where I've named several parameters henkie1 to 4. Then I started playing online, and I needed a nick. henkie was just convenient to use. The number 196 is completely random. Well, maybe not completely random, because I like the sound of one nine six. Just say it: One, nine, six. Feels good, doesn't it?  Smiley

Well, marsh found out during the Diablo1 run.
There's a super unique knight on floor 16 by the name of SirGorash.

History of it includes:
- It's fun to use it in multiplayer games, if you win and gave yourself a title like Sir (for rpgs), Lord (for strategy) or Lady (for action, since I found it irritating for others to play with female models) it looks twice as cool.
- Although he's one of the strongest monsters in the game, Diablo himself is so much harder that noone remembers him. I did.
- It's abbreviatable to Gori. Really, that was a major point! My real name is already one syllable. Back when I was a kid and watched "Hallo Spencer" (The Hallo Spencer Show in USA) I always envied Nepomuk for his nick "Nepi".

ouch!
my progression of User ID's >>>

since Quake3 i have been using LorDD TriPP for my nick, I got it from my friends ID wich was LorDD AciDD ( from the lords of acid rock band)

I used that for ever until i became a christian, now i use "Kristjin_Gmr" (Christian Gamer) real original i know haha

For racing games i have always been Twinmill, i got it from the hotwheels car, "Twinmill" so there you have it.
Back in the days, on an unkown server running some strange TFC mod, I got frustrated and started typing random key-strokes in the chat. There i saw it: faskalia
with some gibberish before and after. Since that moment i mostly stayed with this rather unique nick  8)

Aww, it's not from Lain? I thought it was, since your avatar was from an anime.

Well, actually it somewhat is. Lain's my second favorite anime and I was trying to think of something and "the wired" popped into my head. Then I thought of the cousin thing. u_u

....didn't know you were an Eva fan Strangeness.

Zelda Scientist®
nice. I remember that when I was a kid my dad used to call me snipper. lol. which in retrospect is kinda funny since it sounds alot like "nigger" (I'm black). haha.

It's my current StarCraft name, and poCari is getting tired @_@;
Well, andy's my real life nickname, and i got the mad idea part from a friend that called himself mad brad on msn. My original nickname was sonicfan2003 which i carried over from the ign forums to MFO (f-zero gx). After a while i changed my name to mad andy as i kinda got sick of sonicfan2003, and it was a bit lame in my opinion  Tongue

My guess is "ber" for the letters following weisger.

TSA is the abbreviation for The Silent Assassin, which actually I began using as my online handle when I heard it said by somebody somewhere long ago when I was in middle school or something.

But I got tired of the name after Hitman 2 came out and totally fucked up my pretty much exclusive hold on it, although there is a Pro-Boxer who's nick is The Silent Assassin, and a pro-BMX biker who's nick is The Silent Assassin, and there is pretty much a "Silent Assassin" handle in every online PC FPS on earch.

I'm none of them, but I frequently would be asked if I played Counter Strike...but actually, people kept calling me TSA so I just stuck with that.  Also, because TSA is a VERY popular name (Government Agency, and it's a three letter acronym for a lot of stuff), I've had to use various iterations...such as Solid TSA Snake (because Metal Gear is my second favorite franchise, and Snake is my favorite character of all time) and Hylian TSA.

I've always thought I should pick a more Zelda-oriented name, especially since The Silent Assassin in no way applies to who I am anymore (I was uber shy back in the day).  Also, TSA confuses a lot of people.  Problem is too many people know me by TSA or The Silent Assassin, that changing my name would just confuse stuff further more (see my recent attempt to be TZA).

Also, names I would want are already taken (least by people I've known).  Master of Hyrule - probably the only generic Zelda name I'd take, was taken before I even arrrived on the scene.  So...guess I'm stuck with TSA.

I'm sure that's more than anyone wanted to know, but oh well.
welcome to the machine
BlackMaurader (sic) -> Maur

When I created the name, I didn't realize I had misspelled it.  That was the main reason for abbreviating it.  I stuck with the misspelling for some time, but I finally decided bah @ it.

I sometimes use SirMaur for when I need a longer name for a service or for when some dolt has already taken this.  It's common in german, I think.  Or some other language.

Well, I have successfully changed my name to snippet. This is a lot better considering this is my Halo nickname. It'll make it a lot more coherant when the Halo under 1:50 movie is submitted to SDA and my name is right there on 343GS Wink

You could change what it stands for! Triforce Seeking Armos? Time Slowing Aria? Tricky Speedy Actions?

I feel like killing everyone who intentionally appends numbers to their names, has famous characters in them, or surrounds them with xXx or oOo. Bad.
