My brother & I wanna get cheating devices for FR/LG, R/S/E, D/P/P, & HG/SS. He's asked around all over the internet about what he needs to get but most people (even the ones who say they use cheating devices for Pokemon games) won't answer the question.
Thread title:
Sounds like Maverick talk to me.
Action replay DS  and gameshark for GBA although youll probably need to get that online.

Willing to teach you the impossible
Play legit
Start the game(s) with all Pokemon collected at level 100, right?...
Snowboard Assassin
GBA games - Gameshark
DS games - Action Replay

That's if you wanna go the dirty way, and play non-legitimately. I would recommend you do this after you beat the game, and play around with the codes if you choose to. I'm not afraid to admit that I have used them in the past. I was interested in what's possible to explore around the game; albeit it's very dangerous. I just advise you to use GS's and AR's carefully.
I'm only gonna use cheats after I beat the games & I'm only doing it to get some Pokemon & to raise their stats to what they would be if it weren't for all that bullcrap involving natures, EVs, & such. My brother & I are both doing that so we can skip the annoying grind & just fight each other.

If you want a deoxys, celebi, jirachi or arceus and weren't around for it when they were given out well that would be the main reason to use an action replay, that EV nature training stuff is also an tremendous pain if you don't want to catch the latios over and over, haha, but I still don't think I would use an action replay for that, to each their own and their may not be codes for say Black and White 2, I haven't kept up with how that works but there's lots of people trying to crack the new ones.

There's another way to get the event legendaries w/o action replay - via a semi-legit method. To do it you need 2 DS systems and a flash cart. You would need a copy of the Wondercard file. You load this into software that uses ROMs of events (Deoxys Distribution for Gen IV, Liberty Ticket for Gen V) and then run the simulated event. Pretty much every Gen IV and V event from all the regions are out there, both from Wi-Fi distributions and local events.

As for regular Pokemon, Standard Abuse via Black/White is probably the easiest way to get it without resorting to using something like Pokesav to just hack them in. You can find info about it on YouTube and on Smogon. They have method for the Gen IV games and Black2/White 2, but those are a lot harder.

Yea smogon been a while since I have heard that name, what are their regulations for all the stat type stuff. It sounds like D Yellow might be doing this for competitive play? I only briefly got into that stuff at the beginning of gen 5, didn't last long I lurked around smogon for probably a month however and still look at serebii even though I don't play the games any more. It's still good to keep tabs, I have smogons ban page bookmarked. Lips Sealed

I don't really care about what Smogon considers Uber, banned, or whatnot. They do have a great source of info on how to get straight 31 IVs though, and that's what I recommend reading and understanding. I've had success getting them on starters and gift Pokemon (like the elemental monkeys at the Dreamyard). Not so much on B2W2 since the Timer0 values fluxuate a LOT more on those games compared to B1W1.

I think that could be beneficial to speed running as well? I briefly saw some talk about that in planning. I will read that out of curiosity do you have a link?
Fucking Weeaboo
Yeah, you want a starter with straight 31s and a good nature. I don't have a link handy though, but it may be in the planning thread in Newer Consoles.

I can provide links for RNG manipulation, and I'm around if you need advice from an actual human. By generation, the method of manipulation changes.

Emerald - Straight timer down to the centisecond from when you turn the game on for an IV spread. Better for breeding than straight catching by far, but it probably possible to manipulate a decent starter in a segmented run.
4th gen - Each game has its own hell, with a few different types of things having to go right down to the centisecond, and stupid bs like coin flipping hundreds of times. I never got this down. I can explain a decent amount of this, though, and a few of my friends have been successful.
B/W - Real easy. Time down to the second, with a seed for IVs, and a different one for nature/breeding(actually makes the process easier). I've had success with standing wilds, gifts, an breeding, and this is the one I can explain best.
B2/W2 - As Sir VG mentions, the Timer0 changes, and to my knowledge this means its about the same as before, only with a ~1/12 uncontrollable chance of working to balance the ease of execution. This has scared me off and I do my breeding in B/W, so I don't know for sure.

To keep with the topic of the thread, I only ever used an AR to get items for event pokemon for the third gen games (like importing an Old Sea Map to catch a "legit" mew still governed by the laws of the game) and to get extra TMs(So I don't have to play the whole game again to get another EQ) before I found out about emerald cloning. D Yellow, if you to be competitive at pokemon, there are legit ways to get perfect pokemon in an hour if you know what you're doing, but for screwing around, the listed options are just fine.

For the DS games you could easily just go on Pokedit if you have access to internet on your DSes regularly. Then you can make anything with any sort of EV setup you want, any sort of IV setup, level , moveset, etc etc. I stumbled upon it when looking for a method to acquire a few event pokemon I missed. Hope that helps. x:

I'm not sure if online battles check your SID or not to make sure that the pokemon themselves are legitimate, but if they do, you can always use Pokecheck, too. I know they check the movesets, EVs, and all that jazz, but better safe than sorry, I 'spose.
What versions of Action Replay & Gameshark do I need?
Final Fantasy VII Fanatic
If you don't want to use the origin of each hand held you can do it a lot easier on emulators, they all have built in "Game sharks" if you will, would even save money on not having to physically but a cheating device!
