Hey Ho Let's Go
I get this odd mouse failure when I try to run Q1 in WinXP. I can't move the mouse for like 1-2 seconds after I've loaded a map. I'm using a Logitech MX500 USB mouse with the latest mouseware drivers from Logitech.

The problem occurs with all .exe's

Does anyone have a clue what might cause this?

tja, het is verorberen en verorberd worden
All i know is that my Logitech Marblemouse (trackball) works 100% perfect when i use standard windows mouse drivers, when i i use the officiial logitech drivers it sometimes behaves weird (especially with sudden movements)

Yeah well, the thing is that I can't configure the mouse properly with the standard WinXP drivers, I'm forced to install the Logitech mouseware drivers. They work just fine in everything but Q1 (with WinXP installed) though.

Odd...

motherfucker! this is the 2nd time I forget to log in before I send a message. grrrrr

Anyway, check out www.blackviper.com and optimize your windows xp. You probably got like 4-5 svhosts.exe running, and maybe you dont need them all. I have the exact same mouse (best damn mouse in the world), and had the exact same problem when I went to windows xp. I dont have the problem anymore, but I cant remember exactly what I did, other than optimise the system. I got the 9.78 mouseware drivers installed.

on the other hand it may be some kinda direct input issue. Try disabling/enabling this (most likely disable), but you're probably not running with directinput?

Anyway, it was just a thought...

What are svhosts.exe? I'm not too familiar with WinXP yet....

And that page you linked to is quite confusing, so that won't help me much Grin

The problem might be related to a direct input issue, I'll look into it later.
