I will be streaming today at 8 pm CET. That is in approximately 2½ hours from now.

My streamlink is http://www.twitch.tv/warcraftspeedruns

I would appreciate feedback on pretty much anything. So dont hesitate to spam me in the chat about soundlevels / videoquality and ofc ideas for the run itself. I will be practicing undead chapter 2 and I will probably focus on the part after I have killed the first paladin. So I hope you will check it out. See you Wink

I enjoyed the stream and can start to see the ud2 run coming together now.

A couple of thoughts:

1) You could probably let the militia kill an acolyte instead of a meat wagon to make them go away, which would save you a meat wagon.

2) Rather than killing the two blue knights before the blue base, could you attack the tower over the trees with your (three) meat wagons, ignoring the knights as they attack the wagons, then run past, get all blue attacking the wagons and have them tank, whilst being repaired by as many acolytes as you can spare, and then do the same as before: kill the Pally while blue attacks the wagons, then run away to Uther?

Yea I thought it was a very productive streaming session. For anyone interested the VOD is up at http://da.twitch.tv/warcraftspeedruns/b/297234088

Good ideas cabbage. However i kinda doubt that it is possible to engage the blue paladin without kiling his 3 footmen body guards. It should still be worth investigating if its possible to run past those 2 knights.

Uther himself is going to be a pain in the ass though - no matter what. I figuring its going to look slightly silly and be quite time consuming regardless of what i end up doing.

I plan on doing a similar session next tuesday at the same time. I might stream again on other occasions, so follow me on twitch tv if you are interested in following my progress

Yeah. I have no ideas to offer on that front. :/
Go play spacechem !
it seems the magic number is 8 Wink
I mean 8 ghouls when facing uther. Stupid had 8 ghouls during all the fight and 2 backup ghouls at the very end.
During your successful attempt you also had 8 ghouls, I think he used resurrection because he was outnumbered or his life went down too fast. (but  you can kill him without him using resurrection, he has soo much mana anyway)
Stupid had more ghouls than me plus he had level 2 death coil. I dont see any way that I can manage to kill Uther within just one cycle of divine shield Sad
I watched your stream, was fun. Haven't played WC3 in forever though but I like watching speedruns of RTS games. One question though: Does anything carry over from mission to mission? Like hero level or something. I really don't remember how it works.
Hero levels and items carry over

Uther in one cycle, with 7 ghouls:

Maybe it just wasting time...
just started watching the VOD ... very nice, more streams please Smiley
First Paladin abuse.

Explanation:
Two different dialog can't be played simultaneous.
Therefore militarization delay.

Question: are the dialogues equally long in all languages?

If not, it might be beneficial to switch to a different language in some missions (if that's even possible from in-game, rather than needing a different install of the game). It would certainly be fun if Liderharen's run suddenly switched into Russian or German for a mission partway through. Smiley
Foreign language dialogues have minor difference long, but game scripts exactly equal in all language version (as far as i know).
Magic number is...0!? Shocked  7?? Undecided  8? Wink  My answer 12 Grin
I'm reflect on how to overcome Uther speedily?, and decided that "Fewest Ghouls Challenge" is wrong way.
To beat him efficiently need more Ghouls, and as luck would have it opportunity are exist.
I propose following sequence of construction operations:

#1)Haunted Gold Mine
#2)2 Crypts then 3 Ziggurats
#3)250$=Graveyard
#4)As far as Crypts done, order 1+1 Ghouls. (Wagons must die by now)
#5)~7-8sec after #4 Unsummon 3 Ziggurats + pre-order another 1+1 Ghouls
#6)350$=Necropolis
#+)Bonus: When Graveyard done possible order attack-research

If set Acolytes-available-time as 0:00, that building quest (+4Ghouls +bonus research) is complete at 4:45. Its equivalent ~6:00 if first part is ~1:15.
I believe that this additional four Ghouls are enough to reverse Uther situation (even without bonus research).
I have my doubts about your first paladin trick. It sure is cool and all, but I wont really be able to kill him without healing up my ghouls first and even if i do kill him. I will have no corpses to heal up my army before my next engagement. Besides, I doubt that it is actually any faster.

About the number of ghouls. Its a tricky one, but keep in mind that if want reinforcements, then I will have to stop and wait at some point in the run. If I dont stop and wait, then I dunno how im supposed to get the ghouls through enemy lines and to my army.

Lets see. I will be doing another streaming session tomorrow at 8 pm CET just as last time.

Smiley I look forward to it.
About first paladin you probably right, sheep's and watchdog is unworthy food for all-triumphant army of darkness.

About number of ghouls once again. I implied overtaking variant (dont wait them anywhere).
Just do same what you do last time, they will catch up with you just in Uther time (like a real heroes).
You can send one/two acolytes ahead 4 Ghouls to distract enemy lines. Their trip to Uther not a problem.

I'm looking forward next session too.
Using the acolytes to tank a little after you've made all the necessary structures may be useful too.

Wow, nice find Artur. That should save a shedload of time.

Though I confess I have no idea wtf Uther is trying to do. Do you understand why this glitch happens and how it behaves?
For me it looks like the AI thinks that Arthas is between the wall and the water and trys to get there at 0:25.

When Uther heal Arthas (0:10), he change his spot, and he trying get to this spot (0:22).

Ah, I see this now. Any idea why he's trying to get there? And why he only starts trying after seemingly normally chasing Arthur attacking him for a bit?

I wonder if this trick can be used against other enemies who have damage spells.

Another great streaming session. Smiley

To repeat what I said in the chat just now, you could probably increase the damage output of the tunnel of death idea by 50-100% by having a moving blocker at each end of the tunnel, rather than only at the end near Uther's destination. That way he never leaves the tunnel and gets attacked by 4-6 ghouls at all times.

As long as that doesn't cause him to activate his divine shield and scupper the whole tunnel idea, that is...
