MGS for PS1 forever.
This isn't necessarily a bad thing...but lately whenever I view speedruns it'll eventually go to being pixellated. Now, the only reason why this distracts is because I get used to the one look and then it takes a second or two for it to get pixellated. And when one file is pixellated and it goes to another file...the other file is fine until it gets pixellated as well.

What is the reason for the pixellation?
Thread title:
How pixelated? Does it happen with all files(if not, which ones)?

Try opening one of the files with VirtualDub and move the slider to a time after the pixelation occured and see if it shows up. If it does, then it's a problem with the file. It could be that it was encoded with 1-pass VBR(picture quality tends to be uneven, though in my experience it gets better as you near the end).

OTOH, if it doesn't show up in VirtualDub, the problem may be with the player or the codec. It's probably DivX, so go to Start->Programs->DivX->DivX Codec->Decoder Configuration Utility. The first page is Post-Processing Settings. Check Disable Post-Processing and uncheck Film Effect.

If that doesn't help, then I really don't know...
