hey.. first post, hope its worthwhile.

sorry if its been done before, im getting used to the layout of the site but meh..

im thinking about doing a speedrun of vagrant story.... iv heard from some sources it can be done in under four hours.. im hoping around 3:30 or less.

bear in mind this is an extremely difficult game.. but that could just be me, iv noticed on these boards that there is a ridicioulously large amount of quality gamers, and i feel honoured to be in the presence of such gamers...

anyway should i do this???

100% runs=great to watch
If you can do it...and would enjoy doing it...then I say go for it and keep us all posted.  SDA always needs more quality content.

YAY! I was going to do this some time back but never got around to it. Would love to see it done.

Anyway, a good place to start is with this guide:

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/vagrant_story_speed.txt

That should help you out a bit.

thanks a lot ifrit, thats gonna help me quite a lot.

im gonna go for a few hours and load up the old ps2, will try and complete following these tactics in around 6-7 hours.. hopefully with a bit of luck if i segment it right... i was thinking around 6-8, 8 being the very maximum, i should have the run done by the weekend.

luckily i got a brand new DVD recorder for my birthday, and this is on a HDTV, so i should have no problems with the quality... this is what i meant to ask, when iv completed the run where do i upload it to?

Since you're using the PS2, make sure you use the Fast Disk Speed option in the configuration.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
If you are going to do a few test runs, you should record all the cutscenes and make a seperate file with just the cinematics.  I've been wanting to do that for awhile, but I don't have the right equipment (I'd want to do it in HD obviously).  If you do that, please email me with a download link!  Wink

Hey... I read on that guide someone managed to beat it in 1h17m.  That seems impossible to me, but hey the stuff on here can be convincing.  How's your run coming along?
