Really? It would make one hell of a run then!  Cheesy

I really hope someone does it...

Edit: I will work on speed tricks for Inside Jabu-Jabu tomorrow, it's a whole new thing now when we will use farore's wind inside. And didn't Acryte said that it might be possible to skip a large part of that dungeon? I have to find out.

If you could all work together to get one of those for each dungeon/temple then I'll be in good shape. In the sense I'll be comparing them to my current stratgey. It would speed up this search majorly.
Also I am going to fix up the whole Okyiama's epona mess. I plan to make a similar thread except it will remain with purpose.
If anyone has suggestions of what the thread should be about please tell me.
Does the golden scale bug exclude the possibility of getting the piece of heart entirely? I'm just wondering as it could make a difference for any 100% run. It's still very cool though and allows for all sorts of messed up routes(Jabu Jabu before Dodongo?).

Perhaps...
A messed up child route won't be possible on this version of OoT unless..
1. Save Warps
2. Jump slash acute angles glitch on all the right places.

Now if you mean as in not a speedrun then yes.
I recomend you try this and combine it with the get to the spirit temple w/o becoming an adult tricks.
That way you could use bombchus to beat Dodongo's Cavern. Tongue
Yeah, now all I have to do is search out those stunts. I know getting into Gerudo fortress involves seam walking with a cucoo if you don't have bombs, but that's the extent of my knowledge. This topic is such a wealth of information; I didn't think glitches were a significant factor in OoT before I saw it... This is almost as cool as the lttp glitch quest; less cool because you can do less stuff but more cool because the stuff you can do is more useful. Still, it sounds fun enough to try. I think I'm going to do it tommorrow actually; it shouldn't take long to rush a file that far. I just hope it doesn't exclude that heart piece; it would be funny if adult link got it instead of the gold scale or if doing it again earned it. Either way it's still possible to reach 20 hearts with the extra heart container. I wonder what getting the silver scale does if you have the gold though. Yep, this should be fun.

I think it's possible to get into Gerudo Fortress without seamwalking by hitting the cucko until it gets mad, then damage boost from it.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Well, if we're going to accept the golden scale and Ganon's tower glitches, why not use the bottle glitch to make the blue fire rooms faster?

Because they'd be skipping that part all together.
Actually, when noone has found out how to enter the Shadow Temple before Water Temple, the Iron Boots must be necessary. So far the Ice Cavern has to be done.
Speed is the key.
I strongly believe that it is possible to get past the green slime in the hole without disabling it by jumping through a nearby hole, I've gotten very close from different angles.

Acryte's Final Shadow Skip Theory:

It is very possible to skip shadow. The determining factor is IF you can boost onto the grass hill from the box. This requires either the longshot or a beanplant. (I'd choose bean) and makes it so that you can get to shadow w/out learning the song, this saves time. Use the LS to hook to the box or ride the beanplant if you have planted it. Bomb boost onto the grass. go around to the fence. oNCE YOU GET ON THE BACK SIDE (NOT THE RIGHT) THEN SCALE THE TOP AND WHEN GOING AROUND CORNERS YOU MUST BE ON THE TOP SEAM. Now, go all the way to the next corner. you have to go to the top to get past it. continue and drop down to the goal.

my method for trying to get up there:
pull bomb -> jump off box -> Z+R bomb drop -> jumpslash -> bomb boost.

if you slip off that hill part (lets say the damage boost forces you back off the ledge due to the invisible wall), the ledge is grabbable. You can even get a foot hold at the bottom, so to get up there the boost doesn't need to take you far. (have tested the rest on emu). If you get on, you have to go to the left and scale up to the top past the invisible wall. then go along the top to the corner and then go for the goal.

Point is this: If possible you skip the longshot and the shadow cutscene, as well as getting hoverboots early meaning TSA can try out that hover boot idea he had, and we can also get one step further to skipping the water temple. plus the hover early is bound to have abusable things.

in the fire temple with hover, you only need to push the block 1 time in the room w/ the switch that makes the flames go down, and the grating you have to climb.

did anyone even TRY this? sounds very possible. I didnt read anyone trying it Sad

When was the content in Master Quest actually created? I'm confused by this whole 64DD thing. Was it released several years ago on the 64DD as a Japanese exclusive or was it only released on the GameCube in the first place (having been in existence for a while, intended to be released on the 64DD but held back for release in the future)? Sorry if you can't understand this. Maybe Wikipedia would be a better place for this, heh...

Ura-Zelda, aka Master Quest, was developed at the same time as Ocarina of Time.  Ocarina of Time was meant to be the flagship 64 DD title - much like LoZ was for the Famicom Disk System.

The "disk" would have two sides - one was to be OoT, the other "Ura-Zelda".  Just like the Famicom Disk game, which had 1st Quest and 2nd Quest...

There was a THIRD part - the 64 DD Expansion for OoT, which features all NEW things...new overworld areas, etc, but that never saw the light of day.
hello there
Maybe we'll get lucky one day and Nintendo will release it. Perhaps as a download on the Revolution. That would be the best freebie ever.

I wish there was a way I could help out. I can't really look for stuff right now with my Oracle of Ages speedrun dominating my time (well, now it will since my French exam is over ^_^) but I'll start investigating as soon as I've finished. Anything anyone particularly wants to see? I don't really know where to look.
I thought Ura-Zelda turned out to be Majora's Mask?
Oh well...

Yay, Lets see if I can get some vids up. <- estimated upload time for bow skills vid is 2 hrs encounting. (94 mb) <- that is if noone closes the window as I leave for the next class Sad

FIERCE - That Cojiro avatar is the best yet. Oh, and nice Dopliss.

didn't play OoT this weekend since I had to play some tales of symph. but it's all good.
Yautja - about the cuckoo thing... yeah, I said that a few pages back, though I still haven't tested it much. I have an emu save right there, though I was trying it at normal speeds since I wasn't on mupen. I'll have to slow it down sometime and see if it can be done. Figuring the seamwalk is pointless and impossible. Look at where you are on the seam by changing the camera, the seam is DETATCHED from the textures! I don't think it can be climbed.

Jabu skip involves throwing ruto up to the switch in the room w/ the platform that goes up and down, then trying to bomb boost up there too. Then you could set Ruto on the switch and continue onwards. All you need to do before that is get ruto to the slingshot room, grab it, and then skip the rest of it all up till that point which is a beeline straight to the boss pretty much. This is IF we can get that damage boost, though it does look alot more feasible than shadow's damage boost.

update: No bow skils today... Sad maybe thursday or so.
I'll see if I can get a smash bros match up tho since it is smaller. - note that that was the 1st hr or 2 back after about 6 montsh of not playing so me and Luis were (quite a bit) rusty. Aka... no wavedashing (except once) and I completely forgot about L cancelling too. Plus my egg skills weren't up to par, but overall it's a fun match.

It really makes sense. I've tried it a lot but the hard thing is to get attacked by a chicken in the right moment, it would be really hard to do on a console.

As for Jabu-Jabu, I'm trying to find a way past those slimes without disabling them. Especially the green one that blocks the hole. I've almost done it a couple of times, just an inch away from the ledge.

Yautja - try this:
1) Go to hole in main room that the big bari deal drops out of and kill it (just so it doesn't mess w/ you)
2) get on the side of the hole that is opposite the other hole that has the green tentacle in it.
3) adjust your angle.
4) grab ruto. (optional)
5) fall through hole
6) shield drop ruto and jumpslash
7) hold forwards.
8) your sword will hit the green tentacle
9) you will be damage boosted sideways but will land up there
10) ruto is in the room w/ you but is too far away to do anything with, you may proceed to the spiritual stone room but Sad bleh. you need ruto. I believe TSA had another method to accomplish the same result, though he didn't have Ruto either.

I have found ways through 2 different walls in Jabu Jabu. Both are relatively pointless. I was trying to get from the circular rooms that the tentacles are in, into the hallways part where the tentacles block you. that ways the tentacles won't get loaded and you can keep going (if it lets you through any doors that is... no luck, and I don't think you could open the doors either so it is pointless to try.

For the cuckoo boost, here's my method:
1) Damage Cuckoo till it crows in 1 hit.
2) Get on top of the bridge support w/ cuckoo in hand.
3) Get into position on the back of the support.
4) Drop cuckoo onto support.
5) Stab cuckoo once. It falls into the river as it crows (this looks very funny)
6) This is followed by a (very cinematic) cuckoos flying upwards to the bridge from below cutscene.
7) time jump.
W/ this method, the cuckoos come from below and such continue upwards. This is the best way to get them to go higher and makes it so you have a better chance of executing a damage boost up high enough to make the boost.

I was trying that before Acryte posted it Tongue It sounds possible..but it isn't. :-/

sorry, will have some Bow Skills on thursday hopefully. Here's some smash if anyone's interested:
http://download.filefront.com/4629898;783137e98b51f6828dc36e84821ddf259ee83a27629b71c1fb5dba9970e3f088e41d118a5476bb21

In my defense... we hadn't played ssbm for about 6 months. I completely forgot about L-cancelling, and I wavedashed once (while he was dead) to see if i could still do it. Other than that, we play items off but w/ very low appearance so that you still have to have item catching/throwing skills. I couldn't find my smash bros mem card so that's why I don't have any other maps or chars. After watching it again I wish I used my eggs better since I usually am much better w/ my eggs than that (can usually count after half a year?). And I should have double jump cancelled some egg lays for variation. I really was trying to find out what to do again. I mean, I had the dtilts and the dsmashes but no bairs... or at least not enough bairs.

And I was JUST going to quote you on how I was a bit dissapointed...and that this was spam/off-topic ;p.

No wonder it seemed sluggish. Why didn't you unlock Final Destination/one or two secret characters quickly? It may take half an hour, maybe, since the only decent unlockable characters can be unlocked quickly...or are you a Yoshi player (if so, I find it a bit awkward but I don't really care)?

And six months isn't a long time! I mean, the only reason we have SSBM at my house is beacause one of my brother's friends lent it to us, and he plays it once a month or so (we had the game for a year or two now...)but he never gets rusty (welll, a bit I guess, but gets back up in a sec).

I need some random people to play against other than my brother (who keeps beating me XP)...

Oh, off-topic/spam/whatever. New thread, like okiyama did, but with not as much spam! Tongue
I just did a test and confirmed that if you catch another bigger fish after getting the golden scale you can get the piece of heart. I caught both fish, a 8 for the scale and a 10 for the piece of heart, on the same trip. This means this trick is valid for both a normal and 100% run. It's too bad that catching 8 and then 10 is kinda tricky. If you do the 10 right away you will have a hard time getting a bigger one for the piece unless the sinking lure works for it.

Yep, onto Jabu Jabu's belly for an early boomerang and to see what happens if you get the silver scale when you already have the gold. This is actually quite exciting.

EDIT: I did the test. The silver replaces the gold! That was unexpected. I guess it actually has separate flags for having each and just goes with whichever you got last. I bet the Hookshot/Longshot would work the same way if you hacked a longshot before getting the hookshot. Ok, so this is completely useless for speed running, but it's a nifty piece of trivia. Now to *actually* do Jabu Jabu's belly.

Double Edit: Ok, I did the Jabu Jabu thing, but I just plain can't get that Cucoo damage boost to work. For one, I don't understand where on top of the bridge support is. That could refer to a few places. If you mean those little wooden pegs on the sides of the bridge, I have the problem that Link always throws Cucoos; he never sets them so I can't hit it from there. The number of hits the Cucoo takes seems to be fluctuating too. That makes predicting when it's one hit from crowing hard. And, of course, I can't seem to avoid talking to the Gerudo by the gate when I try to do a jump slash. So yeah, I think I fail on every possible level. Any tips to reduce my failure level? This is the part of the route that needed exploration after all.
Quote:

I tried it for about an hour last night and no luck. Granted, there were only a few attempts where I actually got a good jumpslash/damage boost combo. I think it is possible, especially considering I was close and I suck at performing damage boosts. Perhaps a veteran will get it soon.

Ok, I did the Jabu Jabu thing -> you mean up till boomerang and then headed out to spirit right? (no bombs or damage boost in jabu yet right?)

Okay, the support is that little peg that sticks up.
Try jumpslashing the cuckoo 2x then low stabbing it when you are on the peg.

You throw it??? Stand on the peg and press A (w/out a direction being held on the control stick)

W/ this variation I'm not sure if you even need to try to go onto the gate. I have tried that and also to the side and I think the side (though higher up) might be easier since it is closer and since it is over the drop that the chickens fly UP from. You also don't risk talking to a gerudo... except you shouldn't and can't talk to a gerudo w/out being on the ground. You are supposed to jump OFF the support, into the AIR, and then jumpslash while you are in the air.

Hope that helps.

hello there
I think I've found something of minor significance...

http://www.zippyvideos.com/1636321493275496/kokirifencejump/

(Sorry about the quality, it was recorded straight off the TV as you may have guessed)

I can only get it to work by jumping from the very end post and nowhere else. Then it's just a case of getting the timing right. Could this possibly be used in the Rupee route for the Shield?
