i'll edit this again when everyone figures out a better way to do the podcast, cause that stickam site was shitty, sucked balls, and was also not that good. i can record the podcast with audacity. no need for the website.

also i don't mean to randomly be consumed with power to try and organize it all, i believe everyone involved is equally in control and will follow that. i'm just trying to get something temporary till everyone agrees on something that's good

Yeah sorry about leaving the site, My computer crashed and I am temperally useing my Wii internet channel to message. When I get my vista computer back everything should run great for me. Even skype, which was having a hell of a bad time working on my family computer & not even connecting.

for future scheduling i'm gonna need some info. it's obvious it was poorly planned for today on all sides, including my own.

days of the week you are [usually] free. what times of the day you are [usually] free on during such days. feel free to list days or times that may not be usual, but you happen to be available on them.

don't worry about dates or anything, or future months. lets just assume for march to start off, and see if we can all plan several times that might work, do it at least a few days in advance (unless everyone happens to be willing and ready on short notice), and make sure its convenient for EVERYONE.

the podcast will only be around 15 - 20 min, so you don't have to worry about dedicating hours at a time or something, or even staying the whole 15 - 20 min. example: if tiki wanted to let us interview him about speedrunning mega man, he'd only need to dedicate like 5 min for it, and could always feel free to leave if he didn't want to stay for the whole thing.

also, don't feel compelled to be absolutely on schedule or sacrifice something to make a time....this is supposed to be purely for fun and to see what happens. whatever is convenient for everyone is the goal. i'll handle recording it, though i would like one more person to as well just for back up.

i don't mind if you pm me, post here, go on irc, whatever. i just want to gather who exactly is going to be part of the podcast and try and find a nice relaxed day that works for everyone. eventually i would like to create some kind of routine time that happens to work and be a relaxed pace, but i have to get started somewhere.

when it comes to me i am free:

in general:

monday - 1pm - 3pm
tuesday - any time before 1pm / after 5:30pm
wednesday - 12pm -> 3pm
thursday -> any time after 5:30 pm
friday -> any time after 4pm
sat/sun -> just consider this as any time

it's just a basic time frame - most likely i wont always be free during those times, but it's something to work with when planning times. on monday i have class in the morning for example, so its guaranteed i can't be free then, etc. also march 13th - 21st i have spring break. i would hope that i have some sort of a life, but consider suggesting any time during there and i'll let you know what works and what doesn't.

Well for me im free 24/7 untill my job goes through at the end of the month. And will not be available on the 23'rd for court.

@xXIkuti What time zone is that so everyone can plan around your times. ie GMT, EST, CST, etc.

it's EST, and i'm going to universally always mean EST unless i mention something else just so everyone knows. if everyone could use EST that would be nice, but i don't mind manually translating from whatever time zone you list. don't forget to join the irc room to discuss other things 13, idle in there and support it Smiley

Yeah i will. Also i will use EST unless otherwise stated. BTW GMT to EST is -4 or EST to GMT is +4 (however you want to put it) just to let people know and still using my wii untill tomorow when i will be using my family computer again so IRC will be really hard to use right now. So I guess ill be talking to you guys mainly tomorow onwards on IRC.

we've been chilling in the irc channel, that's it pretty much

so far the only people i know who wanna do the voice chat for the podcast (besides you two) are me and lagdotcom, so we've been waiting. i'm also pretty set on using skype for it, so you're gonna have to figure out how to get it to work on your computer unless you know of something equally good (not stickam or any voice chat website, they really really suck.)

for some reason having at least 4 people participate seems good in my head, so if there are any others willing to sub in the meantime either pm me or go to #sdapodcast

rough outline for ep 1:

introduce ourselves
talk about SDA and what it is
talk about speedrunning itself, the point of it
*random discussion of stuff (other games like sf4, re5 / speedrunner stereotypes / etc)*
*what grinds lagdotcom's gears*
*Did You Know?* ( fun fact about mike uyama / nate)

something like that, in other eps i'd wanna get a little voice chat interview with other runners and such, and tiki already said he'd do one later on if he has the time. so yea i'd like to have 3-4 people including myself at least, and i think it could be pretty entertaining. let me know when you and essentia are available via pm or #sdapodcast

An update from me. I am finally getting my Vista computer back and will most likely be able to put skype on there and use it. Also IRC will work finally and i wont be using my Wii to post anymore. I will finally be able to help again with the podcast. Yeh me!

GREAT NEWS everyone. Got my vista computer back from my mom and now need just to get an adapter for my cat-5 internet cable so i can extend the cable from one room to my room. Then i should be up and running. Hope to be ready by friday.

Here is the brief summery of pilot/first podcast script/work: Welcome - bring us all into the podcast with a warm welcome, Intro - a little something to start us off, podcast staff introducing - DJ/Co-DJ/Guest DJ say there DJ Name (if different from there SDA username/nickname) & there SDA username/nickname then Host/Co/Guest DJ's Say the rest of the podcast staff then give a little info/backround about each staff member/job title plus tell people about each interviewer and getting to hear them more and who might be interviewed, Podcast Statues - give a little something something about our first/pilot podcast and tell about the next & future podcasts to come and if we are going to have an interview/guest person or not, Outro - a little something let us end, & then Goodbye - End the podcast with a warm goodbye.

A bit late but I think a good exmple of a community driven podcast would be the Starpower Podcast. They probably go on a bit long most of the time and the shout outs thing is annoying but as far as talking about topics that are relevent and still being entertaining I think they do a good job.
