I'm counting with you then.

So it should be like this:

1) Me
2) dex
3) Astra
4) MortyreR45 if space will allow it

Are you guys bringing PC ? LCD or CRT ? I have 21" CRT Smiley
Invisible avatar
Nah, I'm not bringing mine.
@dcjc, Kleve is practically on my way to Copenhagen (travelling from Eindhoven), although somewhat inconveniently positioned between major highways (at least from the North-South ones). But I've got an Octavia so we should comfortably be able to fit in with our PCs. So you could chalk me up for the meeting in July. Similar to MetzGER, this is not 100%, but nothing ever is, really. February will definitely not work for me.

@Ewil, make it a SS2 coop and I'm game Grin Too bad TheVoid can't make it, though.
... Actually, I just noticed that I've got SS: TSE as well, I really should install that sometime.
Yeah sorry that I won't be there, perhaps another time.

Yes you should Wink

And if you guys are going to do some SS coop, be sure to record it 8)
Ah hell, just record the entire event.

I do not bring up my own PC. But I do like travel with a lot of beers.

@ TheVoid
This is to bad, I would like meet and talk with you in real life.
Then I guess I can take 4 people, maybe even 5.

Just wondering, how are we gonna do Quake coop without computers ? Smiley

@henkie: SS2 coop !!!

Currently I'm livin' in Berlin, but I will probably spent my holiday at my hometown near Flensburg at the end of July.

Where are you live correctly in 'Berlin' ?
I live also in 'Berlin' in 'Lichterfelde'.

@ Ewil :
Have you a fourth place in your car, for me ?
I do not really know of MetzGER, for a place in his car, in 'Hamburg'.

I'm living in Reinickendorf and I won't bring my pc either and I wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year.

Is it allowed to bring your partner though she/he doesn't like games at all?
Kibumbi's (might've been someone else, can't remember) question from before that went unanswered ("would we like to have some party-hungry friends outside of SDA to be brought there" or something to that effect) would answer that pretty well. The real question is why you would want to torture your beloved like that in the first place. On the other hand, the drink-together is more than just about video games if the first post is of any indication.

To answer the said question, personally I'd prefer less random drunkards and more something group spirit oriented. They might be great guys etc. for all I know, but larger group makes it harder to get to know the individuals. Kind of defeats the purpose to have a meet-up to get SDA people know each other better in the first place, you know. Still, having your partner with you probably wouldn't cause much problems, though; showing up with your personal army is another story.

I think friends is a bad idea but if you come as a couple I can't see the promblem and especially if gaming doesn't have that weight.

In that case I guess I can come to the event. The main problem for me was just that I don't have a car and driving by train is expensive.
About beer and food, I guess I'd buy it in Germany, that's just cheaper than in Denmark. Another question is where I can sleep. I don't need much space if it's just for a few days.
Oh, and it's "djcj", not "dcjc".

About games: SS FE/SE is fine, SS2 doesn't work on my PC.

Hey, I've got an idea: what about making like a group audio commentary of a game?
I think a bunch of guys talking and discussing about a run might be pretty entertaining.
Rawr!
Hey! im not sure if I can go but I hope so you can put me on the "maybe list" :D:D I'm gonna do my best to be there!
Hey Ho Let's Go
As for me hosting an SDA event here in Copenhagen, I'm afraid it's not do-able anymore, at least not at my place. 'Somehow' I managed to get my girlfriend pregnant, which means we'll be having a baby soon, which again has the unwanted effect that we're running out of space here in my apartment with all the baby-gadgets and whatnot one has to buy in preparation for such a little thing.

Sorry  Undecided
Wow, nice one. Congratulations man! Although I am not sure if babies fall into the category of "things".  Wink
TIOLET!
Nooooooooooooooo~ etc.

No seriously, we need to replace "party at stubby's" with something equally awesome. This will be hard.
Hey Ho Let's Go
I'm sure someone else is able to host. And besides, isn't Germany closer to where everyone is living apart from us Scandinavians (Denmark not included of course)?
Congratulations Stubgaard! Cheesy
I could maybe host. Entire 1st floor of our house is pretty much available, there's a lot of space for parking, a nice pub nearby and a chateau ! There are often parades like vintage or so.

There are just 2 problems:

1) It's a very small village, so no clubs etc.
2) It's in Czech Republic, near north Polish border.

Hey, that's like 200 km from my place! Wink

Also, there is a possibility of me hosting, but it's a doubtful one...
Speedcon being in Czech doesn't change my plans of having a long bicycle trip. Actually that makes the trip even more interesting since I have to cycle through Poland which is totally unknown territory to me. Smiley
Small village, big city, there is no real difference. Every place has its own magic.

I'd try to convince my GF that it would be awesome if we had some international guests for a couple of days, that are all totally into gaming, but I guess soutern Germany is not really "central" to most people.
Only possible benefit would be, that munich airport is just a spit away from my door.

And congratulations Stubgaard Smiley
I'm sure he'll start gaming before he turns three :p
Well, south Germany is pretty much the center of Europe and I think I can proclaim that Germany has the biggest amount of speedrunners from Europe, so it would probably be the best place.

Yeah, exactly my thoughts too. The 2nd SpeedCon that was held (this was back in 2001 when the site was Quake oriented only) took place in Germany as well, in a town named Nienhagen.

I didn't expect that positive reaction. I'll try see how the WAF in the house is Grin

If it should really happen, I could offer two places to sleep on the extendable couch and additionally two small mattresses. Then it already starts getting difficult...
The living room could take about 1-2 people more, kitchen would maybe take two more and offer floor heating. If I stick my stuff up where it should be my room could take another three people, maybe four if no one minds a cosy feeling. The dressing room could take two people, though I guess maximum sleep time will be 4-5 hours, then the cats will prevent further resting. The lower bath could take two people, though it wouldn't be very comfy. Hmm, if we take the corridors into consideration there could be another five people crammed into the house.

So that's:
2 comfy
2 good
2-3 appropiate
2-3 mediocre
~5 "meh"
~4 "urgh"

Rather good n-WiFi is available throughout the house, hopefully with 32MBit I-net then. Otherwise some neighbours have an unprotected 16MBit that's nice on the terrace Grin
We miss a big screen, but I should be able to borrow a projector for some days from work for watching runs and doing group commentary on them.

Did I miss anything of great importance for a speedrunner's gathering?
Ah, yes. There's not a single console in the house atm Grin
TIOLET!
Yeah, we gonna need a shitload of laptops capable of running Quake and Serious Sam - The First/Second Encounter. MADCOOP FTW!
