I finish my speedrun act 1 near perfectly and my timewould be 16 :57 when i can finish the red zone in 4:30. I dont think 4:01 is possible i tryed anything and was fast like cosmo but i only reach in 4:02 my time at the beginning is 3:29 or can i save a second before?

Good work, mate! I was reading your previous edit before you made a new edit, lol! I found it strange too that freezing did not work, as it normally does. Did you set off a caution by shooting the first guard? But then you canceled it? Smiley

Do you plan to do a full speed run? Our friend jinguji is also currently working on an Act 1 only speed run! He uses the MGL-40.

I need to spend plenty of time on this run. There is so much testing to be done.

Good news. Everything has gone well & the video is ready for encoding & uploading. I'll begin in a moment. It will be available in a few hours (slow upload speed for YouTube) I will post a link here when it is done.

Overall my new changes have enabled me to reach the Advent Palace at 8:46. Which is 9 seconds faster than my old vid. I will detail the minor changes in the info section on my vid. But it should be obvious to those that have seen my old vid. Please read it though. Without telling you how right here, I would rather you watched it first Smiley

I will just inform you of the time saved & where:

RZ:NW Time saved = 1 second
RZ = 0
MkII = 1 second
Militia Safe House = 6 seconds
Urban Ruins = 0
Downtown = 1 second.

I'm most pleased with the MSH method upgrade.

The next vid will be due quicker than the last time, as I know of the method I want to use for the Frogs.

Please note, I will re-use the old vids of the 3 sections in Ground Zero. This is because I didn't need to change them & the vid will be incomplete without them. Every section from the RZ:NW to Advent Palace has been done again.

Yes, 1:34:13 is still the world record and has a video. I am sure other speed runners are doing well, but may not have a DVD recorder to post their run online. Cosmos knows that his record can be improved by at least 10 more seconds as he admitted some rough parts after Act 3.

For Act 1, were you able to get a 16:52?

My new RZ is only a 4:02 checkpoint. My previous vid was 4:03. My initial roll at the start of RZ:NW cost me 1 second. With a roll 4:02 is tight but possible. My new method just removes the roll. Nothing impressive. I'm guessing you thought I either had 4:01 or 4:00. Unfortunately not Undecided

The method is essentially the same as before. 4:01 will be tough on New Game as I believe the AK collection in Ground Zero can affect your time. (The brief text that appears after the AK collection. You don't get that in Clear Game) I don't believe it is impossible though. With an absolutely perfect section in the RZ:NW you should be able to save 1 second. Eliminate the roll in the RZ & you should be able to save an additional second too. But that would prolong my progress further. I always strive to maximise the section or method limits. But if I cannot see much margin for improvement then I will move on. The RZ:NW & RZ will need quite a bit of time investment to achieve those times.

The MSH is a different matter though Smiley

On another note, I'm having audio problems during the encoding process for my new vid, hence the delay. It is slightly off from the MSH onwards. Hopefully I can get it sorted. If not, there's not a great deal I can do so I'll upload it anyway. Expect it shortly.

I completely forgot you rolled in RZ NW I did actually wonder why you did that but forgot to mention it. I am looking forward to the vid though, I wont be on mgs4 for a bit as I have got killzone 2 to complete and I am dreadful at FPS so it may take a while.

In the last area, you can scare two Frogs and headshot two Frogs. I think this permit to cut a lot of time 8) You don't have to wait when the last Frog jump Wink

You must be as near as posible of the Frogs. The last Frog is scared just when she is going to jump.

i have to correct my statement i think 16:52 is possible the advent palace is the biggest secrect to spare time i have seen cosmos act 4 its very great maybe you can spare 2 seconds withou using the solar gun. dont worry guys cosmos time is not unbreakable Cheesy

Remember to give us proof of your time, his act 1 can be beaten using devil_slider's new frogs method of scaring the one on the floor so she does not jump.
