Might be magic...
Submitted - verifiers welcome Smiley

I didn't quite nail it though - there's at least one spot where 10 seconds or so was wasted (Shak) but it's balanced by the super fast deaths of Rodrick and the golem.

This game in particular can be a bit of a challenge to speedrun due to the controls which sometimes play up - there's an example at 16:16 where the mouse goes outside the movement window and selects the "get" cursor.

In a segmented run it would also be possible to use the "Easy Move" mode more to speed things up in certain places - in a single segment run its hard because the turning motion sometimes doesn't register when you press the key so you can end up way off track sometimes.

Also thought of one potential improvement - instead of getting the Greater Heal (before the hilt) there's a potion of Heal (normal, not greater) in a barrel in the first knights room, which we have to go through anyway. It's debatable whether this would actually save any time because using the barrel and then hunting for the potion on the ground takes time, and it's actually very quick to get the Greater Heal anyway.

Just found another awesome use for "Easy Move" - it moves at the same super-fast speed when you cast Levitate, instead of the usual snails pace. Maybe not so useful for UW1 since Fly is quickly available, but from memory there is an easily-accessible Scroll of Levitate in UW2 which could make things much faster. This basically makes Levitate just as good as Fly.

Also, "Easy Move" does work in UW2 through SHIFT+WASDX, even though the arrows have been removed from below the compass.

Hey! Bumping this old thread with a new record: 16:39 (SDA timing)

This was largely the same route that Gammadragon used, but with a couple of additional deathwarps and not burning the potion of greater heal (since it is only used once). I also didn't make too many mistakes in this run (the controls make small hiccups surprisingly frequent!) so I'm very happy with the 45 second improvement!

Nice - I like your two new silver sapling death warp improvements near the beginning. Plus the generally better execution.

Hope to see this submitted to SDA.
Thanks, I've submitted this run and it's awaiting verifiers. Unfortunately I didn't record the opening credits/title screen, so I'm not sure if that will affect whether SDA will accept it.
