Out of curiosity, how do you do this glitch?
I really want to make sure i get consistent with this glitch seeing as it's so important and you can easily waste a lot of time if you mess it up (i'm working towards a SS RTA)
does it just come down to memorising timings and such?
single segment with resets
You can just say RTA then since that implies it's in a single segment anyway. And yeah, if we're still talking about BiT it's all about timing.

You reset the game so it executes the respawing action (AKA falling in a void) as soon as the title screen loads . It's a 1 frame trick (1/30th of a second) so it can be difficult to do the first few times you try it.
Oh, i meant how you personally do it, seeing as you've done pretty impressive runs of this game before.
there's the item menu method, buffering, holding down the reset button then letting go etc so i want to know what you guys with some running experience would think is the best/easiest/most consistent method of performing this glitch.

1 frame? wow, i knew it was a really small window, but i wasnt sure it was actually one frame...

I use the soft reset method. I just walk towards the bridge and hit d-pad up a split second after i see link start to hop in the air, then reset. It's alot easier using sword/jumpslash method Logitech made, as some of the frames with the normal method of just jumping off the bridge can seem ambiguous. Unfortunately that requires actually having something to jumpslash with Tongue
hmm do you have to press dpad up again and then hit the reset or can you just press the button while you're in the item menu?

so far, I seem to be consistently resetting on the wrong frame... my muscle memory seems to have kicked in at the exact wrong time =(
as a result im able to do this glitch less and less...
When the item screen is up, press start+X+B in that order. Don't use the reset button.
i tried doing that, nothing happens except the item menu disappears because of the b button press.
im assuming it's because im playing the game on a wii.
or maybe something else.
my black wii cant run burnt games so i had to buy a twilight princess disc to play with, maybe the wii's the problem if you're meant to be able to soft reset using those buttons normally.
Nah, I play on a Wii too and I'm fairly sure the majority of runners do. It should work.
well this is odd then.
just to be clear: press up on dpad. hold start button and x button and then press b button. result is the item menu should disappear and the game should reset itself.
correct?

Yes, assuming "press b button" means holding it.

I found a new tp glitch: if you use map to pause buffer, you can actually advance single frames.

Actually, upon further examination, it seems to randomly take 1-3 frames, even when opening the map on the first possible frame (it's frame perfect).
I found two typos on the above two seemingly identical sentences. The first one being eve(even) and the second one firts(first). That is quite strange beacuse I thought he mis-copy/pasted the first sentence, but that doesn't seem to be the case according to the two typos.

Now, back to on topic discussions... Smiley

Taiga forums are fairly broken on firefox 18. I can't see anything i type into the post box, which makes finding typos kind of difficult. So when i knew i miss-typed some things, but didn't know where, or how to locate the typos without being able to see them, i copied it to notepad, fixed them, then pasted it back, apparently without deleting what i had previously typed in. Sorry about that.

A random dude popped into #zelda and mentioned that it was possible to legitimately obtain the bomb bag from Iza with the Gale Boomerang.

Not sure if this is old or useful but hey, keepin this thread alive

<pheenoh> that tp trick would allow no s+q to do clawshot route through SPR
<pheenoh> otherwise it's useless because of how slow it is

I dunno why you'd want to though, since, you know, you can't savewarp back out. Food for thought I guess.
Wait whut?
I just ordered this game and Im gunna learn to run it Smiley

Pheenoh im gunna watch whenever you stream now xD

Hi. I got a 3:22 (beats my last run by 6 minutes) today and will probably submit it. The beginning was less than pleasurable, but I got extremely good luck and executed fairly well overall. I think this could be pushed down to 3:18 with current strategies, but I'm getting pretty sick of this category tbh and would rather just move on.
