He's back walking in TP, LOL XD
I'm not THAT bad.

Having messed around with Links movements, I'm pretty condident that the fastest form of movement is side stepping, since it seems to go side step, roll, side step roll with very quick alternations.

And use the back slice roll when you get it. Smiley

:worship: O Suicidal Goron. I'M NOT WORTHY!

Anyway... Don't we need the Gale boomerang for pretty much every dungeon anyway? Could it actually be skipped?

How many rocks are needed for the Faron Woods early glitch? I can do it with Epona... I restarted my run like 5 times, after about 10 times I got a good segment one, I fall off Epona once but it doesn't matter because I needed to wait for the angry goat to calm down anyway. I also recently finished my segment two (up to the slingshot), in one of the attempts the cat got the fish but it ran into a wall and disapeared and the cat was gone and I couldn't get the slingshot. Sad

So I'm basically just trying it with the rocks now =)

Do you have a video?

Speed is the key.
I've made a rupee route for the slingshot and I think it is pretty good. Triforce said that when saving after herding the goats, he had a time of 3 minutes on the title screen. I managed to get 2 minutes up to that point. He said that after getting the slingshot he had played 9 minutes, where I have played 6.

I uploaded the videos:

TP Rupee Route Part 1

TP Rupee Route Part 2

Tell me what you think, but keep in mind, I didn't put that much effort into this, it's just to show the route. I know that goat herding could be improved by 10 or so seconds, but I didn't feel like spending 50 more tries trying to manipulate the grass to drop a blue rupee. Roll Eyes

After redoing all that I got two minutes, I think the the slingshot was 7 minutes, I'll have to check Wink

Sadly  I don't have a video Sad But I will try to replicate it.

Was it the big rock or the little one? I'll try both anyway.

Good news: My time (your first video) can't be any more then 8 seconds longer  Smiley I didn't know about that blue rupee there!(first video) about to download second...

EDIT: My rupee route was..

1. going to the pumkins by the ladder and throwing them getting, 5 rupees

2. Going on the house, 15

3. climbing the tree and getting 15, 30

Not sure what's faster, but probaly yours.

The big rock...It might be possible with the little one.

Speed is the key.
Climbing the tree is incredibly slow and should probably be avoided. Then again, doing what I did isn't much better (getting the blue rupee from the pumpkin and then climbing the house for the yellow one).

You can manipulate just about anything to drop blue rupees but it would probably be too frustrating, but if we could save inbetween and so on...

This needs to be planned extensively.

Ok Fierce I was doing it completely wrong >_>

I once found ten rupees beside Link's house but I have absolutely no idea how I did it. It would take WAY to much luck to get it again.

Gathering green rupees should be minimized, probaly only 5 of them, eh, I got a good idea..

5 from your run (green)

5

5 beside links house

10

5 beside the gate

15

5 in pumkin or up ladder

20

10 on house

30

That seems optimal...? Or is that just your route and I'm just being stupid?
Has this video made the rounds?

Awesome video...I think though that since you need Zora Armor (so far) to beat the temple, it's not a huge time saver...you basically can skip getting the water bombs from Barnes...but then again, you can use that "warp" in the Graveyard to go right to Lake Hylia with them....

Also, can you get Water Bombs from chests if you didn't purchase them?  If not, you need them anyway.

Secondly, even if you could get down there and into the Lakebed Temple without the Zora Armor, is it possible to beat that temple without it (the boss battle - do you have enough time - probably not).

Lastly, why is everyone doing that rupee route?  Get the chest in Link's basement, then get the blue rupee outside and enter/exit the area 3 more times for 3 more...faster than any method I've seen yet.

You need the lantern.  Tongue

Most will probably have noticed this glitch, when you are in the desert temple (Dont know the name) at the spikewalls that pop out of the ground. You can sidehop when they arn't activaded yet and you will get hit but you will fall to the other side.
(I will make a vid. soon)
He's back!
I don't know if Fierce and TSA already discovered it, but I did a large sequence break in Lakebed that saved +5 mins.

The chest in link's basement requires the lantern which we don't have yet, also getting one rupee and exiting/returning to the area again would be very slow unless the ingame timer is used, which I doubt it will.

The blue rupee you can get in the grass with Epona on the first day should definately be gotten since grabbing it on Epona doesn't even make the small "You got a rupee!" text appear.

5 green rupees should also be collected since there are 5 right in your path while doing the required quests.

Yeah I did that on my first playthrough since I didn't know where to go.
Can someone explain how Acryte glitched past the second gate, I watched the video but I can't make out how to do it.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
is it possible to skip text cutscenes? I know it's possible to skip the one with the cannon when you get shot in lake hylia, so thats a time saver to arbiter grounds.. if we can skip text, though, even better.

K, I know most people already know this and it's pretty obvious but I keep hearing of people that haven't sadly. If you double-tap the "-" button you can skip cut scenes. Useful on minor annoyances like having to take the cannon up to the cucco house.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Well I think everyone knows that there are still some unskippable cutscenes, which sucks, but it's cool that most of the longer ones can be skipped.

Might just be faster to run around as Wolf Link, though?  Do you fall down and have a delay before you can move after you are damaged?
He's back!
I watched Fierce's video just now, since I've only watched videos of parts that I;ve actually done, and again sorry Fierce but that method is just plain silly to use as it clearly time consuming and requires far greater precision in relation to what I did a while ago (refering to and still currently on first playthrough). I don't know if I should make a video just to show you what I mean, but its a much more relistic speed run option.
Speed is the key.
I jumped from the top floor and jumpslashed onto the boss door ledge, is that what you mean?

Yes, but if you land exactly on the top you will just slide off it. Shocked
And you can do the same trick with wolf-link (L+A), and with some luck you won't get hit at all. (Missed me only once and you have more chance that you land on the wrong side)
So, big chance of getting knoked down as link but mostly at the good side V.S. chance of not getting hit at all but bigger chance of falling back to the wrong side. (Or just walk arround it Roll Eyes )

(I don't have time to upload the full video (With landing on to of the spikes without getting hurt) yet, it should uploaded tomorrow.)

And how do you do the water temple properly? I guess I skiped some rooms and want to know how it should be done.. Tongue

Got a great segment three done, that gate jump trick is hard, but I got it right away, which  is awsome. Rest of the segment went pretty well, so I guess I'll move on to segment 4 now. =)

Done segment 4. We get a bonus, too; if you skip talking to the kids, you don't have to give talo the sword  Grin

The wooden sword appears exactly as the Ordon Sword does when in wolf form.
Unfortunately even though you got to keep the wooden sword you will be forced to get the Ordon Sword causing it to automatically be replaced.

..but now that we can get into Hyrule Field...
