Thanks Fierce, but the Boulder thing is wrong.. I was refering to the one you goes through the gate.

EDIT : How many temples are there  in this game?
And what can you collect? In OOT you could Heart Pieces and Gold Skultulas
No the Quail is not riding the Q
The wooden sword appears exactly as the Ordon Sword does when in wolf form.
Unfortunately even though you got to keep the wooden sword you will be forced to get the Ordon Sword causing it to automatically be replaced.

Just a quick tip I discovered, so far I've found the best/safest way to kill the redeads is to toss a bomb, then follow up with one jumping slash. Works everytime.

Edit: Nevermind, The Illuminated's way is better.
Or just smack them twice with bomb arrows.
Yep yep yep!
Or, if you have ball and chain, hit them twice with that (can happen in one swing)

Maybe a fast way to break that kind of cages? (On the wii with an fast spin attak.)

I also found a way to get somewhere you shoun't get on that time, but its usless in a speedrun and I don't have a proper way of explaining it.

Really? Sounds cool. problem with that is you don't have that weapon when you first see them. Could come in handy later though. But I forgot if you meet them anywhere else besides the Cave of Ordeals and Arbiter's Grounds.

edit: tried that, yep, it's faster. and fun.
Yep yep yep!
Has anyone tested to see if you can get to snowpeak ruins before Arbiter's Grounds?

Isn't the entrance to Snowpeak completely frozen over until Arbiter's Grounds? Then again, we've passed through walls before.
I was wondering, how time is working for TP? Day and night seems very long, even if it doesn't seem to have an impact except for boos and maybe some bugs (not game bugs, real bugs)?

Also, I just got the Red 'magical' Armor, and it's deceiving.  Sad

It's actually pretty good, especially once you get other upgrades.

What other upgrades?
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
well, i know this isnt very helpful, but, on the last battle, (spoiler)

if you time things just right you can kill ganondorf with all spin attacks within 6 minutes..

*sigh* People are still asserting that the stick is a faster aim...  What you mean to say is that you are better with the stick because you've been using it for years instead of weeks, but if you really break down the theory, the Wii Remote is infinitely faster than the stick(I mean that in terms of the number infinity).  It remembers where you are aiming, and that makes it take literally zero time to aim(in theory).  In terms of that puzzle, you would be aiming at a certain spot on the screen, run over to where you need to go, press B twice(to pull out and instantly use the double clawshot), aim to where the next target will be while you are in the air, and then upon climbing on top of the fan double tap B again.  You just repeat this until you get to the other side.  I won't claim to have the skill to do it(or even anything close), but it's obvious that the theory makes it faster.  Lag is 100% absorbed while you are doing the animation to cross the pit too so that argument is invalid.  I don't think we'll ever be quite that fast at it, but we'll certainly pass up the physical limits of stick aiming as we get better, and how good we are now is a ridiculous thing to assess the potential on since we've had sticks for years and years and the pointer for about a month.  I'm done arguing for the virtues of the Wii Remote since if I haven't convinced you now I won't until the results prove themselves, but I don't see how in theory having to move a cursor across the screen during time which you could be doing other things is faster, no matter how fast you can move it(by principle of zero being less than all positive numbers).

I tried to cross the room that way the first time I played too, but I couldn't make it past the third fan.  I figured that it wasn't possible to make it any farther.  That's almost certainly going to be a timesaver since you can just savewarp right after getting the Boss Key, and you can clawshot down levels without triggering death anyway.  The good news is that if we're doing segmented(which would be the wise way to start on this) that this would be at the very start of a segment so you could optimize the clawshotting really well.

It is definitely true that you can aim the Wii remote in a certain direction quickly, but it's very difficult to hold one's hand steady enough to Clawshot an area that is only one pixel--with a control stick, it can be done effortlessly. Also, when you are aiming your little fairy on the screen and you go to the Clawshot, your view changes, so you aren't aiming in the same place.

I don't think you'll be able to pass through the ice wall since it freezes (and hurts) Link as soon as he touches it.
Also you need the fish's scent to get through the snow. I don't think you can make it through without it, but that's a thing that has to be tested yet.

Although the no-wind-trick is slower than it is with the fans activated, you could simply turn off the pointer in the options menu and aim with the analogue stick.
Anyway, it's slower as said. So there wouldn't be much of a reason to even use that technique.

okay, well, you can break the cage by yourself, you have no sword, but the enemies can break the cage with their attacks. The only problem is, once the cage is broken Talo and the monkey will just stand there, he will say something like "you have to chase the monsters away". So, in order to go any further, we gotta figure out how to kill those 2 enemies... When the only item we have is a lantern. (the monsters might be able to kill eachother if we can pull it off, I'd be hard as hell though)

Maybe I'm stupid or paranoid but aren't a few stones in that area which you could get to kill these two monsters? o.o

EDIT: I correct myself, there aren't any stones.

So, the best way would be to get the slingshot, with which you can kill these bastards.

EDIT2: and again I have to correc tmyself since you have to get the fishing rod for getting the slingshot. What a drag ._.

So the best way to date would be: Get the rod, get the slingshot but skip the wooden sword. Would at least save some 10 to 20 sec :\
I'm getting the wii version on christmas day..will help out with tricks and stuff like that when I've completed the game in Mid January. Wink

I'm pretty sure I've found the fastest way to jumpslash. What you do is, tap B, Link will start to pull out his sword, then immediately hold L and mash A. It's not as fast as in OoT but it's close.

Well that's it for another one of my almost useless tips.
Signboard of Hyrule
Here's the optimal solution(s) to the statues puzzle:
Right, Down, Up, Up, Up, Left, Left, Down, Down, Down, Right, Up    (or)
Left, Down, Up, Up, Up, Right, Right, Down, Down, Down, Left, Up

Both are 12 moves long and contain no collisions, and thus are time optimal as well.  The best GameFAQs could come up with was 16 moves long.  The only difference between them is where you send the statues.  The same solution(s) work on both Wii and GC versions.

Thanks Manocheese and YautjaElder for pointing out the far easier sidehop and jumpslash methods (respectively) for getting to the top of an open chest.  It is pretty bad that the HS's take about 5 minutes to get (each).  The only (confirmed?) interesting use so far is a small timesaver in the 5th dungeon with HS#4, to go over the barriers in one room.

Wow, that's the exact same as the quick jumpslash that I found in OoT. Does Nintendo ever learn?

djs, please stop inundating us with your real-life stories and focus on actual gameplay.

If you can't get the game, don't bitch about it in this thread.

I'm supposing you get the biggest wallet from finding all the bugs in Hyrule (seeing as how you get the big one by finding one). I think I have like...9 more to go or something.
