Because I playthrough before I record, and the playthrough before I speed through...so I've been writing down the times. Unfortunately, on the visual guide, I have to go slower, so the time is not as quick.
Again, it's not even a speedrun.
If you're going to be whiny about a non-speedrun, which is what you seem to be doing, then please just shut up because I'm just trying to guage times. I've been going back and forth between 3 SD save files and they all have different times, but according to what I've written down, with cutscenes, you can at least reach Lakebed Temple just between 4-4.5 hours, if not faster. And somebody has shown you can beat the game in 7 hrs and 29 mins skipping cutscenes.
7:29...yikes! It's almost scary. The games been out like 2 weeks for crying out loud.
Even tho you say its flawed, I do not think just any average gamer can get that time only 2 weeks after release...Im thinking your worst is most peoples best.
I wasn't being whiny about a speedrun. I'm about 4 hours in at lakebed and I was just trying to see how my swift play compared to your visual guide and such.
I still haven't figured out segments...sometimes I thought I was at a great save point, but it warped me to a weird starting point.
However, the best saves points for sure are: Entering a dungeon and after you beat one. After you beat one, you are prompted to save automatically - that's awesome.
TSA, I don't think Cyberwrath was trying to be whiny, he was just confused by a couple different times. Oh, and TSA, are you going to be speeding through the game just to see how fast you can do it? Not a speedrun, but just to give us an idea of what to shoot for. Although, it looks like ZooM already did that.:P
Well, I just ruined the final battle for myself, I just couldn't help it. Anyway, nice Ganondorf battle.
7:29 without cutscenes sounds possible. remember how cutscenes ate time in the OoT runs?
the timer and skip cutscenes button sure make this game more speed run friendly. it's quite odd to see speed run friendly stuff in a Zelda game... and now the glitches people are finding.
Magnetic Ceiling Glitch This can be done wherever there is a magnetic ceiling, such as the first one encountered in Death Mountain Mines.
First equip the boots to the D-pad but don’t put them on. Go under the magnetic field and equip the boots. In mid flight up to the ceiling press the - button and put an item where the iron boots were on the D-pad, and make sure the Iron boots are not anywhere on the D-Pad. Unpause the game and finish flying onto the ceiling. You should be on the ceiling with the Iron boots off and you will stay there and be able to walk faster.
To get down walk off the magnetic part of the ceiling or equip and unepuip the Iron Boots.
I honestly don't see why you need quite that many segments. I'd say make the first segmennt start-of-game to Forest Temple. Sure it's long, but there's nothing difficult in that part, either.
Disadvantages are the time it takes to save, savewarping sending you further from your destination, stuff like that. Of course, if it's discovred that saving somewhere is helpful, then I see no reason to not.
Hi, new to SDA here There were some posts about a rupee route... why not just get the rupee (I think it was a purple rupee) in the chest in the basement of Link's house? I only checked there after I got the lantern and lit the area, but concievably you can just remember where the chest is (it's in the back of the room) and grab it. Or maybe it's not worth the time it takes to climb back up the ladder (though doubt that)? I don't quite remember how many rupees are in there, but if it's more than 20 then I'd say it's worth it.

I already checked. You can't get it without the lantern. And yes, it is a purple rupee.
