Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
It is presumed that they WILL fix it, but they haven't yet.  Later versions probably won't have that problem.

Also, as far as I can tell, opening the gates without raising the water level (the thing I posted about earlier), while very interesting, is of no use whatsoever.  Still cool though. Grin

I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Well I started a second file in the game, and I'm going through it at a "quick" pace. Nothing like anyone's final speedrun will be, but I'm skipping cinemas I can and trying to be pretty fast.

Right now I'm 1:49 in and am saved at the Kakariko Spring right before collecting the tears... if anyone's interested!
Do you think those extremely ugly bugs are fixed in the european version? Does Nintendo even know of them? >_>  I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to download any patches, so that could pose a real problem.
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
I'm sure nintendo's aware of them by now.  It's probably all over the Nsider forums, and I believe they keep an eye on those.
What i want to know is whether they will start fixing any sort of sequence breaking.
Existence as you know it is over
I wonder if it is possible to decline the downloadable updates.
Maybe, but maybe nintendo will use the connect 24 to download the updates while you're sleeping =0

The Bridge of Eldin one is BS - or version specific...

The bug:
After you complete the 2nd dungeon and make your way across the bridge in Hyrule Field, a section of it disappears, preventing you from returning. However if you should save/quit before entering the Twilight down the path, it will start you back off at the exit from Kakariko, leaving you with no way to re-cross the bridge.

The video of the bug:

Why this is BS:
I had a save right after Goron Mines.

1) I went across the bridge and saved before it was made incomplete.  Appears back on other side of bridge, but it was in tact.
2) I went across and bombed the rocks, then triggering the cutscene where the bridge vanished, then saved.  I appeared on the TWILIGHT side of the Bridge, not Kakariko side.
3) I beat the monsters, making the warp portal, then saved and appeared on the SAME SIDE as before - the correct side.
4) I went next to the Twilight barrier and saved...and BAM, I was on the correct side.

Conlusion:
Guy edited his video some how, or he did something else, or he has a different version somehow.  However, just SAVING after the bridge breaks DOES NOT RESULT IN A GAME ENDING GLITCH.  Please stop spreading this false rumor, and the guy who made this video needs to come forth and reveal the truth of how he did this.
Damn, I wanted to see that. But Youtube's going through maintnence right now. Ah well...maybe tomorrow.

Another glitch that stops you from beating the game:
I'm not THAT bad.
THis game is buggy Sad

I found a glitch in arbitors grounds (spelling... only saw the name once >_<) where you sidehop into one of the raising spikes and get cornered forcing you to reset.

!!!
That's strange, I checked out gamefaqs the other day and there's people that keep reporting getting stuck on the Eldin Bridge Glitch. I guess they must all be making it up. As far as I can tell though the cannon one is true.

There's a lot of worthless bad bugs/glitches being found, I guess nintendo spent all their time checking to see if it could be sequence broke and not making sure it was bug free. So far that Water Temple glitch is the only real useful one.

Theoretically, if someone managed to get through the statue at the big cannon and did Sky Temple early I wonder if the game would only do a check on that last temple similar to OoT or if it would check if you had all the mirror shards.

Well, the cannon room glitch is fact. I feel sorry for those poor people that got that far only to lose their progress. That sucks. As for the Eldin Bridge I posted a couple pages back TSA said he tested it out and no such glitch occurred.

In LT, both lower doors can be reached in the gear room.  One is easy, just jump down to it.  With the other, do a jumpslash after sliding down the overhang.  Alas, no extra keys nor glitch in the stair room for pulling things early (and time savings are debatable).  Also, petrie911's glitch is easy to do with a jumpslash as well (and the graphical glitches resulting from pulling it off are cool) - plus it is a nice little timesaver.

The following videos have item and map spoilers minimized, the second has a teeny-tiny event spoiler.
LT_EarlyDoors.avi
LT_Puzzle_Shortcut.avi (and accompanying glitch)

I'm near the part of the game for triggering the cannon glitch (I think), I'll toy with that to see what can be done.  If we figure out how to do the  Bride of Eldin glitch reliably, and especially if it does not depend on the surrounding event, we may have a nice time saving save-warp for later events (run legal or not).
I dunno if you guys know this yet.

The Jump Strike can be used to reach higher places Link normally cant climb.

Like the entrance to castle town on the south side. I was trying to get over the cement barriers on each side of the stairs. If you go at em on an angle, you can get up on em, but Link slips back down. Ive also used it on railings and fences Link cant climb on.

I havent seen anything great with it yet, but I'm sure it can be of great use somewhere down the line.

I found this on youtube.

Heh, that was cool. I'm at Lakebed Temple at 4.5 hours, but this is for my visual guide and it isn't a speedrun (not skipping cutscenes).  I imagine you could be at this spot at around 3 hours.
When you say Jump Strike, do you mean the sixth hidden skill or basic jump attacks?  If the sixth hidden skill has unique speedrun prospects, that would make things interesting.  I had always assumed that the only useful speedrunning hidden skill was #4(well, 1/2/3/7 are nice in combat but don't contribue to sequence breaking), but I suppose #6 does alter how you move with your jumpslash.  The route complicates more and more as hidden skills prove to be useful...

Ug, that video does not show the easiest way to do the shortcut with the puzzle.  If you stand with your back against one of the posts it is much easier to reach the platform.  Works in the other room too.

The venerable jumpslash (what did we call it in OoT?) strikes again.  LATER TEMPLE VIDEO SPOILERS
TT_OverGate.avi - if you've seen one gate, you've seen them all.  There are more than a few gates like this.  A good timesaver it seems!
CS_EarlyShortcut.avi - saves ~10-15 seconds, and looks like an SB. (EDIT: there's an even faster way which avoids using the door...)

Also tested the missing guy at the cannon glitch (EDIT: in a different save slot).  It does indeed work if you save before talking to him.  Ouch.  Going into first person doesn't see him, neither does walking around looking for the 'A' button to say 'speak'.

Yeah, I didn't save "down there", I saved after moving the statue, but DID NOT go down into the room.

When I did it according to the guy's instructions, I could not get out.

So, misread on my part.  Rather lame, but there is a way around it - SD card, my friend...SD card...tons of SD saves online now, get one from near that spot, and you're in good shape.
