There's a comma right after the Also, implying that it is a new paragraph and not related to the midna dive link just above. Although the way he wrote it I can understand why it's easy to mistake it for something else. He quite likely meant to say something like "I also found something that applies for both GC and Wii, namely: <explanation of Rutela skip glitch>"
When I was mentioning Wii and GC, I was talking about warping the lava rock and skipping the Rutela cutscene, not Midna dive. I had typed that sentence right under the edit, so I see why it was confusing. I was half-asleep when typing it. I edited it again to make it more clear.
Why are people acting like getting through the second room in lakebed without water bombs is new? IIRC someone (Paraxade I think) made a video of getting through the room with only LJA's
I done it myself, water bombs are not needed there. I think it may be faster though with water bombs though if already owned. Without water bombs though you can't defeat the boss.

Getting through on Wii is new. Paraxade got through with LJAs on GCN a long time ago.
Single segment strategy for Morpheel's 1st phase. After at least 30 tries, there has only been one time this hasn't worked. So this seems like better odds than trying to hit the eyeball with your sword and worth using an extra water bomb.
edit: Found a LBT timesaver for SD2's speedrun. Enter this room (0:52-1:00). Throw a water bomb over the railing to blow up rock, get key, warp out, get Goron bomb bag, warp back. After warping back, you'll be in front of the locked door leading to the water canal before Deku Toad.
At first when I watched the video, I thought what's this video even about. Then I notice how it's a GC version. That be cool if the minda dive works on GC version as well.
edit: Well I had no luck in getting this to work. How would a CD glitch do this though?

Just saw this old video like 40 seconds ago. It doesn't exactly show how it's done, but I sorta trust airikitascave. Damn I wish I had a working Gamecube.
i used the 6th hidden skill to reflect puppet zelda's energy balls easily and fast. i guess this speedtrick would work in 100% only because of the hidden skill. my question is: is this known already?
edit: good to see you back TPfox. i look forward to your new run.
I meant the type of run where you do the minimal to beating a game. Basically what the guy doing the wii run is doing, but since I own the GC version, makes me more interested in the GC then the wii.
With the Midna dive in the segment I'm working on, is this an alright route for LBT (assuming no water bombs in staircase room)?
Get to Ooccoo Jr. Warp out Clear Twilight Steal bomb bag Get first small key head to gear room, get down to room with small key Get small key, warp out, warp in Open door, empty bomb bag Water bomb chest Blast rock Deku toad warp out Goron bomb bag warp in save normal stuff
get to ooccoo jr., jump down onto the staircase, go to the next room warp out clear twilight steal bomb bag get first small key, empty bomb bag in the room before the gear room, open a water bomb chest (it is the room where you have to knock down a stalactite and climb vines) go to gear room, drop down, enter next room, throw a water bomb over the railing to blow up rock, get small key warp out, get Goron bomb bag, use rocket glitch to surface, warp back (puts you in front of locked door) open door, empty bomb bag while fighting Deku Toad (drop a few bombs in the water while Deku Toad is in the air) after Deku Toad is dead, empty rest of bomb bag, get clawshot, save get water bomb chest behind you, knock down stalactites in 2nd room (I'm not actually convinced yet that taking the time to knock down the 2nd stalactite with boomerang + bomb is faster than just turning into a wolf and jumping onto the ledge), kill Morpheel
I know a few pages back I said there is a water bomb chest underwater in the room before Deku Toad. I think I was wrong about that. Unless there was a chest I missed, every chest I opened in that room did not have water bombs. Anyway, the biggest pain is going to be emptying the bomb bag the 1st time after getting the first small key. There is no quick way to do it really.
About segment 20, I'm curious why you decided not to use this trick. Doing this trick is even faster than single-cycling Kargaroc by 6 seconds or so. But since you did 2 cycles, you lost about 18 seconds. Also, when waiting for the lava rock to fall, it is faster to turn into a human, then warp the rock (I mentioned it one page back, but never made a video). When you get to Zora's Domain, you'll still be a human and can then quickly skip the Rutela cutscene. The segment can be done around 22 seconds faster.

I need to look more at stuff like this... The segment was easy, so I'll redo it.
The wiki wasn't working for me earlier today, and atm it still isn't.
