Hi everyone, Im new...sort of. Ive been coming here a long time and have seen many impressive runs.

Im no hard core gamer, but wanted to contribute a nice run to SDA. I decided Turk 3 would suffice.

I plan on doing a dual run with both characters back to back.

This means I go with Danielle first, then Id play the same level with Joseph. This makes a huge difference in level 3 and you will see why.

To make the run intresting and not uterly boring since the game isnt all that popular, I will do the run(s) on easy mode. Its the most entertaining way to play and is soley to focus on speed which is what I am aiming for.

Hopefully when I finish my run, someone might want to beat it, if not then cool.

So far I am aiming a sub 2 hour run with joseph which is easily done if it is not 100% and a sub 2:30 with Danielle, which again is easy if it is not 100%.

Boss strategies will all be from my head and it will be single segment for Danielle and Single Segment for Joseph.

Never give up!

I believe there were a couple of attempts at this game already. However, I think both people who tried it (Marsh being one, and I think LeCoureur103 was the other) eventually gave up on Turok 3, although I don't recall their reasons for stopping. I wonder if either one would be willing to divulge their knowledge of the game to help out here.

If you can actually manage to stay sane enough to complete speedruns of Turok 3, I'll watch for sure. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about this one, so I can't help.

Also.... I'm not sure if I follow with your strategy for running. Do you mean to say that you plan on running each level (first with Danielle, then with Joseph - I got that much) in a single segment (which ultimately makes the run segmented), or are the whole runs being done back-to-back in one go for each, or what?

Thats where I will see. Right now I played level 3 with danielle and when I played with joseph there were changes to the level. Does this affect my joseph time..you damn right.

But I feel it would be more pure to just do ONE SINGLE SEGMENT run for danielle first from levels 1 through 5 and then ANOTHER SINGLE SEGMENT RUN with Joseph.

That way it is only two files. I dont like segmented runs much, so unless Radix or Nate tell me to do it in segments, then a single segment run is what I have in mind.

I hope those guys post aswell...any and all help is appreciated.

You mean run the story of each to send it two different runs? Sounds alright to me Smiley

As for single segment vs. segmented, I can't see any reason why they would tell you to do segmented, it's probably easier on them anyways. (Less editing)

Yay! I already asked in the request thread for that overlooked game.

Though, I don't know what neat tricks could be done during the speedrun. You could try to get a health boost through 100 life forces right before any bosses later in the game. And get the PSG weapon to make the last two bosses much easier. Yep, that's all I can remember.

Looking forward to it! I hope you don't give this thing up like Marsh did. Btw, single segments just own segmented runs if they can be done.

I perfected Level 1 with both Danielle and Joseph.

Danielle I did it in 10 minutes and could possibly hit the 9 minute mark.

With Joseph, 9 Minutes.

when I ve mastered Levels 1 and 2..Ill post those times and keep you all updated until Im finished and recording commences. Hopefully I have a new pc by then and will capture the run myself..that or buy a DVD recorder and send it to Nate.

PS - Most damaging weapon in the game is the damn bow!

PPS - I might do this segmented...still debating. Some friends of mine feel will better segmented than single segment.

Easy mode... I don't see any reason to ever do a speedrun on easy mode. Atleast put it on the default, you know, normal...

Yeah I was planning on a run like a year ago. I couldn't go through with it though, it's just a very frustrating game.

For Danielle you might want to shoot for 45-50 minutes, not 2 and a half hours. I once played single-segment up to the Oblivion battle in 40-something... it's not that long of a game. I know of several shortcuts that chop off a bunch of minutes pretty easily, with Danielle only though. I never really explored with Joseph except for a trick in level 1 that I know of.

Level 1 you should be able to beat in 8 minutes easily. I suspected you could save at the beginning of level 2 with the clock saying :07 if you got a perfect run but I never managed it personally.

Also I found a handful of "secret worlds" (where you get outside of the game map). You just fall to your death.

If you wanna know some of the stuff I found just lemme know through PM or posting here or whatever. I told Marshmallow I was going to do a run but I really really doubt I ever will. It'd still be cool for a good run to show up though.

Any and all advice or run tricks are appreciated.

I decided since the game has 5 chapters. Ill do it segmented. So five chapters for Danielle and 5 for Joseph.

I might do it on Normal, though easy is the most entertaining way to play the game.

So yeah, segmented and as I perfect each level, Ill record them. Hopefully, with your tips, this should be a breeze.

Ok. After much consideration, I decided to go through with a segmented version..to keep my sanity. lol.

Details:
Easy Difficulty (dont like it, dont watch it or DO A BETTER ONE)

This is a fresh run. This means I start the game from scratch. I WILL NOT USE A BEATEN GAME FILE AND WARP THROUGH THE CHAPTERS. That in my view would be another category as you would have more than 100 health from collecting all the life totems.

Im Doing Danielle First and Joseph second.

I will get all of the PSG parts!

I will try not to die at all or keep deaths to a real minimum.

I started recording Danielle's Run TONIGHT!
So far here is the scorecard.

Danielle Times - Easy
Chapter 1 - 9 Minutes
Chapter 2 -
Chapter 3 -
Chapter 4 -
Chapter 5 -
This will be updated as I record more chapters.

So far just with my VCR.

I dont mind replaying what ive done and re-recording it on a DVD recorder or capturing it to a PC.

For now though, everything is on lockdown until I talk to radix and he says he will accept the run. If he wont then there is no point in me doing it.

Well I decided to not run this...unless a miracle happens.
The game is too random at some parts. That and its slow framerate is also frustrating to my aiming.

Sorry guys. I might do a Star Wars related game, but I make no promises.
