is there a way to make water transparent in original quake maps? like in all custom ones "revised for water transparency" =)
if i use r_novis 1 then water becomes transparent, but enemies and some objects disappear if looking through water...

that problem is 'normal' in quake 1. Quake was never meant to have transparant water. So even if you manually run that vis patch, it's still gonna be like r_novis 1. The only benefit from transparent water is that you can see enemies through teleporters and you can see items in shallow water (but not in deep water).
