THE GAME!!
My bad. I'll try and make mine slightly different during the end maybe. And I get the Turbo Pants because they make me a bit faster and it only adds on about 30 seconds or so.

Oh, and ther may be the chance of merging Segment 4 and 5 but it depends whether The Deep Forest is easy to run or not.

Are you planning on w/ or w/o the bloody squirrel suit?  If yes, then I say good for the merge.

THE GAME!!
Yes I am using the bloody squirrel suit. It would be hard otherwise.

And as for Segment 5, i'll probably make it up to somewhere in the Water Temple. Either there or Circus Village.

I say end it at Circus Village.  The Clown balancing/pillow is murder.  He can stay up there for minutes on an unlucky attempt, 2 seconds at best.

Do you have a capture card/Dvd recorder?
THE GAME!!
I have decided to include the entire Donglin Forest in Segment 4 and save in Circus Village.

I do have a DVD recorder. Even better, it has a built in Hard Drive. I was planning to get a decent capture card though because I want to record stuff other than speedruns. But yes I have a DVD recorder.

All of Donglin Forest is a tall order! Good Luck.
THE GAME!!
If it gets too hard then I will split it up again, but I think it will be all good.
So, are you too competing now or what? Have we actually determined if PAL and NTSC are different yet.

... and RJWaters, the done part of your sig is missing 'mbi' by the look of things.

I say let the best runner run, PAL or NTSC.  I am totally not posting the specifics of this route *shift eye*

No word on PAL vs. NTSC

I know, there's a limit apparently.

I think that getting all the items the game doesn't keep the tracks of aren't necessary in a game that has a clear 100% goal, such as Tomba!
Same with Tomba! 2-I'm not going to get the Coal Mine Bell or all of the Magic Wings, they don't add to the 100%.
But it does keep track of vitality ups, right in the upper-left hand corner. There are a ton of games on this site (Zelda is the best example) where getting life-ups counts towards 100%. I'm not saying all Events complete might not be it's own category, but don't be disappointed when it isn't categorized as a 100%, because precedent on the site is it won't. I think All Events is a pretty good category anyway, for Tomba!.

Not sure if the weapons would count, that is a stickier issue, since they suck and hence don't technically increase character power. Would definitely have to get a ruling on that if you wanted it to be classified as 100%. Bells too.

THE GAME!!
I haven't seen a proper video of Tombi! 2 in NTSC so I really cannot say. And of course I have completed the PAL version several times. Tongue

Anyway, here's my tentative Any% Plan.

SEGMENT 1
Help Kainen, raise the bridge, get the crabs, save at beginning of Pipe Area.

SEGMENT 2
Get the ice boomerang, remove all the cappers, free Charles from hardened mud, save Gran, get pig bag, save at beginning of Kujara Ranch.

SEGMENT 3
Find Santa's sack, get the green key and squirrel suit, get the mystery reflector, get kujara energy, find the three kujaras, give big ice block to sculptor, get pig bag, save at beginning of Donglin Forest.

SEGMENT 4
Get the blue key, defeat ghost monster, get the grapple, get the turbo pants, get the rock crab in the deep forest, finish the puzzle, get pig bag, save at beginning of Circus village.

SEGMENT 5
Get the pig suit, help the clown with his tricks, get the weird book with Paon help, break the wooden statue, get the pig bag, get the circular cog, get crystal and take to crystal artisan, save.

SEGMENT 6
Get swimming pig suit, defeat the Ice pig, get the white key, get the harp parts, get the pig bag, teleport to Kujara summit, get statue, telly back to Water Temple and get the Holy Water, use Donglin Bell and free Baron, telly to Pipe Area and save.

SEGMENT 7
Defeat the Ghost Pig, telly back to Donglin Forest, Defeat the Flame Pig, telly to Kujara Ranch and save.

SEGMENT 8
Defeat the Earth Pig, telly to Waterfall of the Heavens and save.

SEGMENT 9
Defeat the Water Pig, telly to Pipe Area and find ...???, talk to Kainen and save.

SEGMENT 10
Talk to Kainen again and go into ????, destroy the pig plates, defeat the Last Pig and watch the ending scenes.

Now these are just tentative, I may change them around or split a segment up or I might even merge some segments. We'll see what happens.
Aim time of what?

You'll hate Segment 2, as controlling Tombi with a wheelbarrow on the overworld is a nightmare. And that's one of the last things you do.
THE GAME!!
I'm gonna do a test run to see what time I should be aiming for. And yes, the wheelbarrow is a pain in the ass to control, but it'll be all good.
THE GAME!!
By the way, i'm getting Super Mario Galaxy soon so I might not get a hell of a lot of time with this, but I will try to fit it in. Tongue
Same reason why I'm putting off any possible runs until Summer. SMG and MP3:C will eat up my time over the festive period. Zack and Wiki would've as well, had it been released in the UK on time...

Understood.  I'm getting a Wii soon, and will be very very busy until then. (Finals in school here)
THE GAME!!
Oh yes and I will be getting MP3 once I have the money. I also may be getting a PS3 for Christmas. But I will definitely fit a bit of Tombi! 2 in whenever I can.
Who wouldn't want to fit in a bit of Tombi?

I'll do random practices if I get chance.

THE GAME!!
I've decided to put Obtaining the Swimming suit in Segment 6, saves a bit of time.
THE GAME!!
I'm probably gonna be aiming for Sub-1:50. Tested the first nine segments out and i'm just guessing how long the tenth seg would be. So yeah, possibly under 1:50.

I have to beat 2:00?
Maybe I should consider getting Baron like you do...

THE GAME!!
Yes, do. In my first practice run, I only found 4 Magic Wings and of course you need Baron for the Time Stop event. And before you get Baron, you only need about 2 Magic Wings and to be honest it does shave a bit of time off.

Why not use Magic Wings during the time stop event?
THE GAME!!
I wouldn't have enough.
